Respiratory doctor, postdoc scientist, Liberal Democrat councillor

In the 2000s the Lib Dems were running councils like Liverpool, Sheffield, Oldham and Rochdale. The national party is doing well in wealthier rural and suburban areas, especially in the South, but doesn't currently have an offer for urban areas and that's a problem it needs to tackle, not ignore.

Ed Davey thinks that there's not much that can be done about the Liberal Democrats losing votes to the Greens in urban areas. This is utterly wrong - and a sign of something gone badly wrong that he is saying this.

Britain should be the safest place in the world to have a baby, but right now maternity care is nowhere near where it needs to be. It's why we're launching a £600 million plan to fix it, so every family can get the care they deserve. And thank you to Tots Play for having us!

Britain’s nuclear deterrent must be genuinely ours – not dependent on Trump or whoever his successor may be. Trump has proven we can’t rely on America as a dependable ally. We have the best scientists, engineers, and builders. So let’s build our own independent nuclear deterrent. Made in Britain.

UK must build own nuclear missiles, say Lib Dems - from BBC News

Days like this are a stark reminder that the UK undertook Brexit at historically the worst possible moment. Bloc politics is here to stay and fiddlearsing about with 2mm advances towards smoother customs arrangements with the EU is not the leadership Britain needs.

Brilliant to have this out! Beyond the headline findings, I hope our screen results will be a useful resource for everyone working in #IronBiology. Grateful to @wellcometrust.bsky.social for funding my PhD.
