1. he’s so open about it this term! so basically republicans have had to move to “this is good, actually”, can’t deny it’s happening 2. it hits different, even for republicans, when everything is so damn expensive trump grifting billions stops feeling like owning the libs and more like owning you

Suddenly, Trump's corruption feels like a salient political issue. I don't know why it took this long, but it's happening. Even Republicans are telling pollsters they're souring on Trump's grift.

Obama's statement should have come from Chuck Schumer et al and the fact that it didn't means that everyone should demand Schumer et al's resignation for being ISLAMOPHOBIC and also TERRIBLE "Leaders"

Their politics are all different, but the appeal of Mamdani, Ossoff, and El-Sayed as speakers and campaigners is that they don't seem afraid they're going to get in trouble. That makes them hard to bully or even make fun of successfully.

SCOOP: 'Tommy' from the now-viral exchange with Abdul El-Sayed is Thomas Teepell, a former staffer for Republican Senator Josh Hawley with close ties to Christian Nationalist Sean Feucht. He's the son of a former Bobby Jindal staffer whose consultant work was instrumental in getting Hawley elected.

Ossoff: "It's the most corrupt administration of all time & everybody knows it. While the crook president & his crook family rake in billions from all over the world, you pay more for everything... they lied us into war & spent most of the last year covering up for the world's most famous pedophile"

The US and the West welcomed Russia into the community of nations after the Cold War. Investment poured in. The G7 turned into G8. The idea that Poland, Estonia, etc. forming their own foreign relations was so unfair to Moscow that Russia is entitled to murder Ukrainians 20 years later is insane.

Ron Johnson blames US for Putin invading Ukraine: "The way we treated Russia after we won the Cold War, how we pushed them. I'm not defending Putin, but we said we were not gonna move NATO one inch to the east. We brought it right to their doorstep basically. What did we think Putin was gonna do?"

I've got a woman in my mentions insisting Chuck Schumer doesn't need to speak out about the president's efforts to strip a Democratic congresswoman of her citizenship because "some people in the House already said something." Oh, word? Then no need for the actual leaders to lead here. My bad.

🧵🧵🧵 The NY Times posted a 15-minute video today in which I got to tell NYT what’s wrong with its coverage. They said they saw my critical posts on Bluesky and invited me to do a video with them to air my grievances. Weird, right? I didn’t hold back. I blasted their sanewashing of MAGA extremism.

What’s astounding to me is how “the president builds himself a palace with money given directly to him in secret by the richest people in America,” literally the most straightforward and worst executive-branch corruption story in US history, just gets shrugged at because Trump is unapologetic

Q: You said you're gonna put some of your own money into the ballroom. Are you? TRUMP: I may do that. When they run out, I'll be there, okay?

You know, the thing is, I had drafted this piece a month ago, and then never published it, because I thought maybe it was too mean.

Mamdani: "What you could see in the videos is bystanders outside unsure as to what they were even seeing. Because in that imagery, it feels as if you’re almost looking at a mass shooter as opposed to seeing someone who’s purportedly representing a federal agency."

Talarico: I've heard credible reports that Ken Paxton has a serious medical condition that causes clinical levels of cowardice. People are concerned. He has asked for proof of life from me. I'm asking for proof of spine from him.
