I think a useful heuristic is: the more passive the headline, the more blatantly and gratuitously the cops murdered the heck out of an innocent person. It's so sinister that journalists act as if their job is to hide the facts of what happened if law enforcement shot someone.

It boggles my mind, that media presents Trump as a real serious official, political scientists discuss his decisions, pundits talk about his policies. Meanwhile he loudly declared to the world he made an amazing discovery that "dumb" has a "b" in it.
Here's the deal with manliness: if you're manly, you don't need to be told you're manly. If you're manly, you won't feel threatened by someone questioning your manliness. Building a shed and painting your nails while wearing a dress are both equally masculine, if you're a man doing them.
