Any kind of restriction on abortion care puts all pregnant people at risk. Because the medical treatment is the same whether you intended to stay pregnant or not. People who have miscarriages can be and are being denied access to treatment because of abortion bans.

What an eventful day considering it's still early in the afternoon. I saw the Hadestown pro-shot (cried four times, it's perfect), got an adorable gift from a friend ("Lessons from Cats for Surviving Fascism"), and refilled my parrot's healthy treat mix jar (dried veggies, herbs, fruit, and oats).

The Odyssey is probably a good diagnostic test: anyone who thought even for a moment the backlash was real has been brain poisoned by right-wing social media and they should immediately discontinue reading X, Facebook, etc.

Finally got to meet my newest neighbor because he saw me arrive home on my bike and greeted me by name despite us never seeing each other before tonight. 😂 I left a greeting card at his door when they moved in and mentioned that I bike. He did the math.

All I do these days is work and write @midnightburger.bsky.social fanfiction, but at least tonight I get to visit a cat who hates me. (And I love her with all my heart. It's taken YEARS of cat-sitting her for her to SOMETIMES let me scratch the back of her neck. That's growth.)

Philando Castile would have turned 43 today. Philando Castile did everything right, except be white. The response to the police killing of Philando Castile showed the true values of the National Rifle Association board members and leadership. Self defense is a human right, not just a white right.

People don't want masked thugs terrorizing their neighbors. They don't want warehouses being turned into detention centers. They don't want billions of taxpayer dollars spent on a rogue police state. They want healthcare. They want affordable homes. They want their basic needs met.
Of course I lose power during the FIRST of six episodes of my #WelcomeToTheHorizon marathon today. HUGE thank you to @summerbrigoni.bsky.social for jumping in and streaming for HOURS until my power came back. @midnightburger.bsky.social community is the absolute best, hands down.
