A former teen takeover happened yesterday in Lakeview and I’m not seeing it reported anywhere. The alderman needs to place a curfew on those 25 and up and ask CPD to do bag checks for running shoes at the LFT.

If this helps: Mendoza endorsed MAGA former Chicago Police lieutenant John Garrido when he ran for judge as a Dem in 2020 after losing two non-partisan races and one as a Republican (he lost this one too.) He’s already endorsed her for mayor this cycle.

As interesting as it is to see how the alders align themselves, if we learned anything from the last mayoral election it’s that voters don’t care who their alder endorses. Half the Black caucus endorsed Vallas and he didn’t win a single one of their wards. Nary a precinct, even.

That total is down 18% compared to July 2025, and is less than half the totals of July 2020 and 2021, which each saw more than 100 killings.
