My three year old has three questions that apply to pretty much any and all situations, problems or issues 😄 Who that? What doing? Why?
I regret to inform you all that the 3yo has had a leap in language development and can now say 'unicorn' instead of 'corners' and 'nutcracker' instead of 'cutknacker' Your thoughts are appreciated at this difficult time.
Hello I have made this due to a mutual having issues with some folks on here forgetting this fact and shouting at him for it. Feel free to use it as a handy PSA x
My family has a tradition of posting horse gifs in our family group chat on August 1st in honour of the horses. I forgot to explain this to my husband, and so the first August he was in the group chat was a very confusing experience for him 😄
happy birthday to all horses in the southern hemisphere
I’m constantly flummoxed by how many people act like we can live and let live with AI. It reminds me of back when restaurants had smoking and non-smoking sections. The smoke came over regardless of how much we avoided cigarettes. It polluted everything.
Was at a kid's birthday party and someone asked the kid's dad what he does for work, and when he started talking about his work scouting locations for AI data centres I managed to restrain myself from saying 'oh, so you're a bad person' and instead just left the conversation circle, please clap.
do not recommend AI tools to me I will scream
I have been obsessed with books as physical objects my entire life. They are part of who I am now as an adult. To have this kind of mentality... it is incredibly awful.
I don’t want to be too sensationalist about this but also I’m the least violent person in the world and I think if someone said this to my face I’d hit them
Interaction I’m tired of goes as follows Person 1: We should not normalize women feeling like they need to use fillers and injections to feel good about themselves Person 2 (has Botox): Wowwwww so now we’re telling women what to do with their bodies? I thought you liked feminism
"You can erase all of the traits of your foremothers, and you can still be just short of the ideal," writes @lindsayfickas.bsky.social for paid subscribers today. www.the-pom.com/p/i-am-sick-...
I think you should all know that my three year old counts like this: .....eight, nine, ten, lemon, twelve, thirteen....
Discovered 3yo will eat a fair bit of zucchini if it is grated and cooked into cheesy pasta. This is good, because I was starting to worry that she is made entirely of cheese sandwiches and yoghurt 🙃
Some academics turn up their noses at movie adaptations or popular history books, but I call them "gateway drugs" into deeper scholarship. How many of us fell in love with history because a movie (or book) sparked our curiosity first? For me, it was Amadeus - it sent me down an 18thC rabbit hole.
Update on the horrors: I have now received multiple invitations to children's birthday parties clearly generated by AI 🙃
Here's two photos of me with my glasses, both also featuring cats for some reason 😄
Oh fun! We're quote posting pictures of us in glasses. I wear glasses because the concept of contacts makes my eyes shrivel into raisins so this isn't hard for me. 😅
Are you a Bluey Fan, a Bluey Hater, or a secret third thing? @headoverhills.bsky.social makes her debut at The Pom today with @amycolleen.bsky.social to break down the good and iffy of the show! www.the-pom.com/p/bluey-is-n...
Bluey Is Not a Perfect Show (and that's okay)
The cartoon dogs may have stolen our hearts, but we’re not taking (all our) parenting lessons from them.

The real odyssey is getting home from a location a ten minute walk away with a three year old when you overconfidentally did not bring the pram 🙃
Spent the afternoon at the Urgent Care clinic with my 3yo. FYI, if your child's behaviour suddenly changes and they turn into a monster, it could be a UTI 🙃
My child skipped her nap yesterday, woke up at 5am AND my husband has the flu So here I am at 7am on a Sunday morning painting ocean backgrounds with my daughter for all her fish stickers to go on 🙃
"When she first requested a gingerbread house cake, I thought it was a passing fancy, but to my dismay, each time I asked, the answer came back the same. E knew what she wanted: it was gingerbread or bust." - @beccys.bsky.social in The Pom today. www.the-pom.com/p/the-night-...

My husband and I are seeing the Odyssey movie this morning (while our child is at childcare, thank goodness for matinee sessions) and I regret to inform you this movie might become my whole personality for a hot minute
I am a bundle of contradictions. I dislike huge international corporations, overconsumption and rampant unchecked capitalism. But boy am I a sucker for an IKEA trip 🙃
Don't do rhyme that often in work I write for publication, but I do love to sit on a hillside and write a little ditty on occasion...
I also should say I have never, ever, once seen a serious Christian who wants to be fair to Scripture on wealth say we should "hate" the wealthy. In fact, often the line is "it is bad for their souls for them to continue to have such wealth"
I regret to inform you that my excitement for The Odyssey has me writing Cassandra themed fan fiction again 😄
did you know that the English words druid, trust, truth, betroth, and truce all share a root word with “tree”? this reflects the longstanding spiritual and symbolic significance of trees in many European cultures
