This is low key one of the most important popular studies that supports the societal importance of art history. So much so that I am doing everyone here a solid by not allowing the article preview to show, the images of which will haunt you for life. english.elpais.com/health/2026-...

We are grieving the loss of my co-editor for Spoon Knife 11. A frequent contributor to the anthology, Mark wanted to try his hand as an editor. One of his last fiction pieces will appear in the upcoming book.
We are sad to share the news that Mark A. Nobles, contributor to several Spoon Knife Volumes and co-editor of Spoon Knife 11 (Remnants) has passed. Anyone that wishes to learn more and honor his memory through the planting of trees can do so here. bit.ly/3Txcdki

"Do the thing you can do instead of beating yourself up over not doing the thing you're not doing" is honestly life-changing, even life-saving, advice.
This concept was introduced to me as "run the dishwasher twice" and was an important part of my executive functioning recovery as well as my path to self-acceptance.
I try* to replace the word should with the phrase ‘I would like to’ If the statement no longer rings true, it’s time to rethink. *If I’m in a bad headspace, I don’t always succeed at reframing.
Note to self. And, as an aside, is there an argument that the word “should” is one of the most toxic?
We have until July 29th to save Chaco Canyon, one of the most ancient historical and cultural sites in the county. It's absolutely irreplaceable, and this move is absolutely against the wishes of the local Native Nations and tribes. Please, please, please leave a comment
The asshole administration is planning to remove the mining buffer around Chaco Canyon in New Mexico. This is being done without tribal or expert input and the public comment time is incredibly, and cowardly short. Please comment to help try and save Chaco. www.koat.com/article/chac...
As I said the other day - this story is very much revealing how little folks understand the massive reach and influence of agribusiness and how the food chain works. Framing the story around taco bell is a good ex of news coverage failing to give us the info we need about our corporate food system.
This framing is so disgusting and irresponsible. Yes, Taylor Farms supplies Taco Bell. THEY ALSO SUPPLY TONS OF OTHER RESTAURANTS AND GROCERY STORES. People will take "avoid Taco Bell" as the lesson which is NOT HELPFUL. www.wcvb.com/article/cycl...
The Bureau of Land Management on Wednesday began a public comment period for its proposal to roll back or completely undo protections against oil and gas operations near Chaco Culture National Historical Park, prompting outcry from environmental advocates and members of NM's federal delegation.

New Mexico environmental advocates and elected officials say the federal government is rushing a plan to cut protections at Chaco Canyon.

It'll be a stressful few months as I wait to see if the risk of leaving Squarespace is something we can bounce back from. In my mind, I had no choice if Assigned was to weather increasing government interference in trans speech. But a safe financial decision, it was not. Please join if you can.
Assigned Media needs YOUR HELP! We're a growing trans news site, bringing high quality reporting to our community. But the financial environment is, shall we say, not exactly kind to scrappy little community minded news outlets? Join us! Join us! Join us! assignedmedia.org/support/
At the risk of sounding cynical or prejudiced, I have to admit that I'm starting to think there might not be ANY good Nazis.
It's not appropriate for cis people to say that trans people are too alarmed, or that certain trans writers are irresponsibly causing trans people to think the sky is falling. I want to take some time in this 🧵 to write personally about how my skies have fallen.
Today I saw my first Oracle/Project Jupiter ad, and it was the creepiest thing. Like if I knew nothing about it beforehand, I’d still know I was being fed a pile of garbage.
Four Democratic members of the New Mexico Senate who represent Doña Ana County gathered by the Rio Grande at Las Cruces’ La Llorona Park for a combined news conference and rally Thursday focused on the Oracle/Open AI data center complex known as Project Jupiter.

No matter how much I love you, no matter how brilliant or funny it touching it is, if your post is missing alt text, I’m not reposting it. Love, your mutual with uneven vision.
My other take that may get me grief is that even though I think the term is useful for class consciousness, focusing your Leftism solely around ‘workers’ when it comes to who deserves to have their needs addressed is a built-in concession that you’re willing to abandon the needy who can’t work.
TIL that Jelly Roll and Post Malone are two different people.
out here on google looking up images of Black revolutionaries and freedom struggle activists laughing and enjoying themselves it's honestly really nice.

Like many people, I used to be a straight woman who played ukulele on the Internet. Now I'm a trans man and my voice has dropped and it's been emotionally complicated... and we're bringing that whole energy out this November. If you remember the Doubleclicks... please help us spread the word!
Not my best work, but felt like this was what's on the menu for Bsky today.
reading Madeleine aloud in the cadence of the Beastie Boys. she was not afraid of (mice!) she loved winter, snow (and ice!)
Name a TV show you are positive no one remembers but you.
I loved it so much.
Gargoyles is legit a “You can’t make em like this anymore” show. A bunch of classically trained actors getting Disney to lusciously animate their horny high fantasy Shakespeare fanfic that they made during their off time from making Star Trek. And it was a huge hit somehow?
What did Gargoyles know when they made despotic billionaire Xanatos do ayahuasca & become enamored with the Native American trickster Coyote spirit & then appropriate its symbology to create an artificially intelligent ambitious android in his image that was also obsessed with trolling 6 gargoyles.

I'm really stuck on the biochemical starvation part. Is the wife refusing to feed him carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, or nucleic acids?
Your infrequent gentle reminder: I would like to share your art/photos/activism if you have alt text on it! Alt text lets people with vision impairments, screenreader users, people who have connection issues/slow internet/not much data/etc, and people like me (Squint Kings) enjoy it!
Cannot be seen. Cannot be smelled. Doesn't put alt text on its images.
