It’s because one guy (DaveART) has aggressively pursued NHL goalies and controls a huge chunk of the market now. He rushes through most of the designs, or passes them off to “secondary artists” (Translation: Likely uses AI).

Mid to late 1990s was the sweet spot, where the artists were creative but still understood the average distance of their audience. Even marginal goalies had decent looks, like Fiset's ice blocks and pharaoh masks, or Billington's Sens design.

Here's the thing about old (80+) Congresspeople: is it b/c it's an easy job, given all their aides and assistants? Maybe we need to scrutinize their compensation the way they scrutinize everyone else's. Or maybe it's very hard? In which case why are you serving well beyond typical retirement age?
Here's the thing about NHL Edge stats: they basically did what we determined was not the right thing to do, which was just record everything & report it w/o establishing the data's usefulness. Sure, we have tons of data (made hard to access, by the way), but it's compiling for the sake of compiling.

Believe Women is an epistemological stance. It doesn't mean you assume that every single woman is telling the truth and women never lie. It means you understand that in the system that we exist in, there's much more risk and pain for women coming forward about abuse than there is anything to gain.

The thing that is baffling to me is that not even the teams he played for could agree that he is worth giving top 4 minutes. That's across 8 NHL teams, or a quarter of the league. He is 34 and very likely going to get 1,000 games in a league that still accepts "because, big" for a scouting report.
