Crop yields down, our countryside scorched and over 2800 people are dead due to this summer's heatwaves. Meanwhile fossil fuel giants are raking in record profits. We must end this rampant profiteering, and cut fossil fuels from our energy mix as soon as possible.

The picture on the front of Reform's policy is of HMS Ocean on the River Thames in 2012. It was sold by to the Brazilian navy in 2018. Turns out you can judge a book by its cover.

1/3 Strip away the theatre and Reform UK is a billionaire-backed project to dismantle the public realm, shred regulatory protections and hand what remains of state power to capital. It’s plain to see – just follow the money.

The leader of Restore Britain, Rupert Lowe, has urged Nigel Farage to make a Reform-Restore pact "for the good of the country". The so-called 'good': - Mass deportations - A referendum on the death penalty - Brutal welfare cuts It's not a pact. It's a threat to the future of our country.

I think my absolute favourite outcome of the Clacton by-election would be for Count Binface to win on 52% of the vote. Deliciously ironic just desserts.

"First they came for the EU. Then the ECHR. They say leaving both will mean taking back control. It’s all lies. What they actually plan to take away is 100+ years of hard won worker’s rights, children’s rights, women’s rights, HUMAN rights, all of which make YOUR life better." via We Demand UK

Govt planning c. 100 new data centres by early 2030s, mostly in already water stressed areas. They have no legal obligation to disclose how much water they use. Meanwhile Govt launches £75m publicity campaign to urge us to reduce water use & privatised water companies waste 19% thro leaks. Madness

HUGE surprise that Palantir’s tool hasn’t improved hospital discharge rates. Their business model isn’t about delivering a service - its only objective is wrapping its tentacles so comprehensively around our systems that they become the permanent gatekeeper to all our problems. Andy - get on it!

Profits before planets Yet again the UK Government has shown that it thinks making money is the highest priority – our environment, our health, our basic needs, and now our pursuit of knowledge, are all sacrificed because they don’t make enough profit. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Holiday in the climate emergency. No that’s not AI or edited, just a snapshot I just took with my phone on Lacanau beach in France. What future will this boy grow up in? It is in our hands, but time is running out.

Riding bikes is 10X more important than electric cars for reaching net-zero cities. And that’s just the climate emissions. Doesn’t include the massive public & personal cost difference, the air & noise pollution difference, the massive space difference, etc, etc…Via @theconversation.bsky.social

Cycling is ten times more important than electric cars for reaching net-zero cities

Active travel can help tackle the climate crisis earlier than electric vehicles – even if you swap the car for a bike for just one trip a day.
