What was that fizzy drink that everyone was obsessed with for a bit there? Something off the internet. What was that all about? Is it still going?
Capitalism kinda feels like a game of monopoly a few guys are refusing to stop playing long after most other players have got bored.
more than anything else, I'm worried FIFA have a half time in extra time show ready to go
The right only care when something affects them. Sadiq Khan needs a 24 hour detail, fuck all to say. Diane Abbot gets more abuse than all other MPs combined, fuck all to say. I wish they'd stop pretending he's not using the issue to legitimise his bungs. It's tedious
Just apologised to my cup of tea for forgetting about it. #britishstereotypes
is this all that being a "manly man" is to these people? regression to the stage of a civ game where your settler hasn't established their first city yet?

absolutely insane story, and yeah, just looking at this chart... with the exception of maybe two people, this entire class was cheating like motherfuckers
Another World Cup, another round of “the European dominance is collapsing!” after a couple of results...then another last eight dominated by Europe. The emergence of serious challengers from around the world, anticipated for decades, still hasn’t happened. www.nytimes.com/athletic/743...
Europe is dominating another World Cup. That does not look like changing anytime soon
With six of the eight quarter-finalists coming from Europe, the continent's grip on the world game has tightened

Again: how was a guy with no observable political skills and no allies, whom nobody liked or wanted, able to not only seize unquestioned control of the opposition but shitehouse his way to power with no plans for how to govern the country? Is that normal, does that happen in other democracies.

Ancelotti changed the game at half time by telling Vini (and Rayan to a lesser extent) to just hug the touchline and made the pitch much bigger. Looks like Nagelsmann has said something similar!

The space vacated by the right was abandoned not only because the right are now fascist wackos, but because anyone trying to occupy that space as the natural party of Sensible Governance ends up holding the bag for a system everyone *fucking hates*.
Political ideology is the strongest predictor of Messi-Ronaldo preference. Authoritarians who like short-form video are more likely to think Ronaldo is the GOAT.

As I said years ago, "division" between far right crackpots and the rest of society is actually good and the correct way things should be. The problem is that powerful people wanted to be on the side of the far right without the rest of us getting mad about it.
There’s no point appealing for an end to “division” in politics when you have made it very clear your pledge to “end the culture wars” meant “end them, by joining with the crackpot right to smash fuck out of various uppity minorities and the left”. *You are* the division, it is you whom is divisive.
the main problem with video as a format is that it's too slow at dispensing information. I can read much faster than you can talk and there's no way you can address this without becoming incomprehensible to most of the audience.
