i kid you not, this is the YouTube channel of the candidate Kemi's defending

I actually think that there is one very important difference, which is that Zack's problems broadly stem from being an idiot in a not especially unusual way, whereas Kemi's stem from being from the planet Zebulon Five
I actually think they are such similar people fundamentally, honestly
I do think some people should be pushed out of public life permanently
Hello I'm an idiot
The thing that really grinds my gears about this is the dishonesty. The biggest implication of this guidance is that trans people will have to live their lives very differently. But they are entirely absent from this framing. You'd be forgiven for thinking this didn't affect them at all.
Our code of practice for services, public functions and associations comes into force today. It provides practical guidance on how the Equality Act 2010 applies to services, public functions and associations. Find out more: https://ow.ly/alIf50Zwrkx
I am going to be spending the rest of my day and possibly my week thinking about "Werner the Herzog" and quite frankly it's the last thing I needed
Juro que tem dias que eu acordo pensando nisso aqui:
To be fair, “Councillors and council elections don’t matter” are a load-bearing part of the “Kemi Badenoch is doing well and the Conservative party’s prospects under her are looking good” thesis.
It's OK for criminal ex-neo Nazis to run your bins is a hell of a line.
It's OK for criminal ex-neo Nazis to run your bins is a hell of a line.
Makes the good point, which I'd missed, that if Badenoch believes in second chances why has she criticised the appointment of Louise Haigh whose criminal conviction was utterly trivial compared to those of Bonehill-Paine?
ConservativeHome’s leader today: conservativehome.com/2026/08/05/i...
got a text today from an unknown number asking me if I'd seen Christopher Nolan's Odyssey and if I had any thoughts on it ... it turned out to be from a friend's new number, but for a while I really thought it was a devious new scam targeted at heterosexual men
This is just such a mental incident? It's one thing for him to slip through the cracks, another for the party leader to actively support him??
It doesn't say much for the Conservative Party that this is the quality of candidate who wants to stand for them now—and that they're willing to defend his selection.
sometimes when i'm on the top deck of bus i like to let myself sway with the motion and imagine i'm on a horse in late 19th century nebraska, taking a long journey between pioneer farms
I just don't think any of this is particularly edifying and we should have strong boundaries within politics about abuse. And doing this stuff is just not indicative of sound judgement?
I would say I broadly agree with a large percentage of what Will Stancil says, and also that I'm pretty sure he's one of the good guys by any sensible metric, while still sometimes being boggled by his almost holy compulsion to finding ways to be shouted at on the internet
Yeah, for days people have been citing “boots theory” at me and I want to shout DO YOU REALIZE THIS IS A RANDOM IDEA TOSSED OUT BY A FANTASY WRITER AND MAY NOT ACCURATELY DESCRIBE REALITY
excerpts of these remarks should be read out to every Tory being interviewed while this guy remains an approved party candidate
The judge's sentencing remarks when this man was jailed for antisemitic harassment of Luciana Berger are absolutely horrifying www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/u...
I did assume that this was a case of a local organisation having totally lost the plot, but Kemi Badenoch is now forcefully and explicitly defending the selection of a former neo-Nazi with a significant criminal history as a candidate. Crackers and terrifying.
Kemi Badenoch certainly seems to be advancing with her agenda to turn the Conservatives into Reform.
to be completely honest 'written by Irvine Welsh' was not something that made me think 'ah yes, Trainspotting The Musical will be a *good* adaptation'
The UK tour of a stage musical version of Trainspotting has been cancelled after a spate of bad reviews and poor ticket sales 👀
The Sheep Detectives: great fun, but also was not particularly surprised to learn the screenplay was written by the guy who did The Last Of Us and *Chernobyl*
always enjoy posts suggesting that Farage only won Clacton because Labour failed to support the candidate, suggesting as they do a degree of faith in the ground-level Labour machine that rivals 'the way Russian politics TV hosts see the UK'
Lots of analysis about threat of the Greens usurping Labour on the left. Reform usurping the Tories on the right. But none about how Binface has completely usurped the Monster Raging Looney Party for the joke vote. Another party that just couldn’t adapt to the attention economy
I think if we really put our heads together we can probably solve Covid policy in the next few hours here on Bluesky
I wish the Conservatives were as alarmed as I am about them finishing *behind Restore* in the Greater Manchester byelection.
‘babe you look gorgeous tonight can i post a picture? nothing horrid don’t worry’

I need Christopher Nolan to keep adapting towering works of literature as a sort of Keynesian stimulus for literary culture.
Okay now it's getting real
Worldle is possibly my favourite online game because every day you just get six chances to guess a randomly selected country or territory, which means that sometimes you have to try identifying the outline of Vanuatu, and sometimes you get this:
