@scotttobias.bsky.social The series Fargo season 3, to me, is very underrated. When Mcgregor and Stulbarg’s characters think they are tough talkers and run into the ambiguous true malevolence of Thewlis’ crew. Offset by Coon’s character and the robot cartoon. So good.
@scotttobias.bsky.social Marge is not just driving home and happens to be by Moose Lake. She’s following that report. Even logistically you don’t go by a Minnesota lake going anywhere. She was driving down a small dirt road that loops around and exists solely for the lake houses.
Again: for any big liberal donor who wants to funnel millions into fixing this country's politics, the ROI on buying any struggling paper and simply tasking it with doing real reporting on local news is vastly higher than the same $$ given to some group that does mass ad buys every election year.

James Fallows@jfallows.bsky.social · last yr.Tedious to point this out, but: - When a tongue-tied Biden said "President of Mexico" instead of "Prez of Egypt," it was a several day story. -Hours after Trump says whoever appointed J Powell made a big mistake (it was him), the episode appears not to merit a story on any national-media sites.
There's one last argument: that by hammering Trump again and again over his falsehoods, claims of ignorance, etc, the Times would somehow "expose" him to the general public. At this point, I think those who want to know, know, and those who refuse to see can't be convinced, esp by the NYT.

After staging with armed soldiers and Border Patrol agents on horse, they packed up and left after a short walk.
If Trump was actually deporting the migrant criminals he campaigned on his immigration policies would probably still be relatively popular. But he knows they aren't nearly as common as he sold the rubes, and ICE would much prefer to dress for war and grab a 48 year old mowing the lawn at an IHOP.
