The president is refusing to spend taxpayer money assisting Americans suffering from natural disasters solely because their states didn't vote for him. I know there are a thousand scandals at the moment, but this one deserves some more oxygen at every level.

No. Approval rates of federal disaster aid requests were about the same regardless of the state and did not vary much with the party of the President. This graph powerfully conveys the scale of the partisan discrimination now.
as someone who is motivated by impact, rather than money or fame, this has been an incredibly alienating decade or so! it genuinely feels like we live in a society that cares about nothing, and I am constantly plagued by questions about what role there could be for someone like me in such a society
this entire issue is downstream of the fact that kids are trapped in car-dependent suburbs, unable to develop any sense of autonomy until age 16, when they're suddenly allowed to drive a 4,000 lb vehicle

What most people need more than therapy and medication is money. So much mental distress is caused just from being squeezed financially by capitalism.
I would like to see more companies admit this - being a public company no longer means running a successful, thriving business. It strictly means delivering growth to investors, every single quarter, who do not care at all about the product the company sells or the people who produce it.

Like the hypocrisy and the open corruption, the naked, brazen lying is itself aspiring authoritarianism. They aren't lying to cover anything up. They're saying, "We know we're lying. You know we're lying. And we know you know we're lying. And there's nothing you can do about it."

Trump insulting blue cities, states, refusing to give aid to those states who haven't voted for him, while collecting bribes, shaking down companies for stakes in their companies, insider trading, selling pardons is all well documented. It's just not acknowledged in day to day coverage of him.

I’m not sure why people are surprised by this. Christianity is, at the best of times, a marketing-focused ideology. But when there’s any significant pushback, it rapidly becomes an exercise in raw power, which is what this is. She’s asserting dominance, not trying to persuade.

Stancil is a conflict addicted wrecker. I don't believe he's operating in good faith, and I'm absolutely sick and tired of seeing my feed filled up with people taking his latest bait and/or falling for his "I'm just an innocent smol bean" schtick. Send him to the fucking cornfield and move on.
