A little bit of an odd request. Does anyone know any textile history experts with knowledge on the linen trade in Brittany, Normandy, or Flanders during the 18th century? Trying to identify a marking on an object in our collection!
Brig H L Glyn Hughes, Deputy Director of Medical Services and commander of the British relief effort at Belsen, in his caravan, June 1945. The photographer is reflected in the mirror. Flowers, a toy horse and a china cat homely touches contrasting with his severe look. IWM (BU 8226), Sgt McArdle
Brilliant letter from Stuart Thompson to Jeremy Clarkson about his comments that benefit claimants should write weekly thank you letters to tax payers detailing how they spend their benefits each week.

"I said it's a bold move by Reform to use the Navy to return migrants. What did I say Roy?" "You said it's an unworkable load of bollocks designed to win back some racist numbskulls from Rupert Lowe and distract attention from Farage's £5m bung"
RefUK, RW media, & Eurofash are plainly trying to whip up a panic about this. Any serious report must begin by explaining that Ceuta is in Africa - not mainland Spain - and 48k+ of the 50k crossers were already returned. It is frightening how many still don't know this. Please share on all socials.
Right, bills weigh me, and the coffers are close to empty. Who needs some research done/archive records copied? I’m excellent and there‘s no project too big or small!
Bit of very local knowledge sought here, please! There was a sanatorium / isolation hospital located south of the main Llandough Hospital near Penarth in Glamorgan (1940s-50s). I can't find its name, but could it have been known as Caeran Hospital? #wales #penarth #cardiff #glamorgan #hospital

This isn’t just about Cadburys. Kit Kat, Hotel Chocolat, Mars, & a load of other UK confectioners. All bought out by US companies and ruined by palm oil and other processes. If you love chocolate watch to the end where a number of genuinely British companies are making decent chocolate.

This will be hard to believe, but I've found a non- #GreatWar book to read. I bought "The Horse" as a gift for my wife, who found it boring. I thought, "Why not give it a try?" Luckily, it's a brilliant dive into history of #humans and #horses. Highly readable and entertaining. #history #booksky

I was holding my breath watching this 😃
I’ve been standing stock still in this wood for about 10 minutes while I mess about with a photo on my phone. I look up, notice the shape, and slowly crouch down to film This has made me so happy I feel I could cry. It’s as close to magic as I hope to get.

More on this below (a resignation hasn’t been refused since 1842). I will be astonished if Rachel Reeves has the courage or nous to refuse Farage’s resignation, but she should definitely tell him he‘ll have to wait until all investigations are completed. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resigna...

It is obvious now that the Parliamentary Commissioner was about to throw the book at Farage so he’s decided to circumvent that formal punishment by resigning. However Farage could be stopped in his tracks - read this:

A brief bit of advice to anyone found to have shown poor judgement, looking at no tank museum in particular: if someone points out your error, be grown up about it. Passive aggressive shooting the messenger is a bad look. @lmbd1418.bsky.social
