Policy at Circular Communities Scotland
Fascinating to hear about the repair voucher trial in North London just now, thanks @therestartproject.org for sharing learnings! I'll be looking at how Scotland could learn from the North London pilot and roll out a repair voucher scheme to benefit communities, the economy and the environment 🔧
Last year, we set out on a mission to make repair more affordable for North Londoners 🔧💷 We wanted to do this while thoughtfully engaging with local repair shops and boosting the culture of repair as a whole. With a lot of learnings now under our belt, we'd say that we succeeded 🚀
Pleased to be quoted in this @foescot.bsky.social PR to highlight the increase in Scotland's carbon footprint and the need for circular economy targets to drive a reduction in our unsustainable levels of material use foe.scot/press-releas...

A repair voucher scheme would keep money in our pockets and goods out of landfill. Similar schemes have already proven successful across Europe. It's time to deliver that same success in Scotland. Let's demand better.
Great to see @ross-greer.bsky.social promoting the @scottishgreens.org pledge to introduce repair vouchers and take back scheme for certain materials at Transition Stirling reuse hub yesterday - both things we call for in the Circular Communities Scotland manifesto www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cn...

Glad to have been able to share some views on the new Circular Economy Strategy for Scotland As usual, it's a mixed picture - positive ambitions, but lack of detail and not enough focus on the top of the waste hierarchy - but we have a basis to build from.. circularcommunities.scot/insights-new...
