Proud progressive. Virginian. DC sports fan.
For federal elections, splitting the GOP into two competing crank Nazi movements would be great for Democrats. At the state/local level, however, we'd be condemning large portions of the South and Midwest to governance by Crossfit George Wallace's.
Y'know I just noticed that Mallory McMorrow has been standing there the whole time. That's pretty cool.
El-Sayed: "If all Mike Rogers got is that 'his name is Abdul, and my name is Mike,' you're gonna be surprised how many people are like, 'Yeah, but that's the Abdul who wants to bring down the price of my groceries and make sure I got healthcare. So yeah, I like Abdul over your Mike from Florida.'"
This man shouldn't be in public life, much less the Senate
Fetterman says America has a responsibility to Israel because Israel has "progressive values"
Certainly wish the primary hadn't been as bitter as it was, but good that she's striking this tone now.
A gracious concession: “I want to congratulate Abdul El-Sayed on winning the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate. He is a doctor, a community health official, a Rhodes Scholar, and a dedicated Michigander. I am proud to offer my support as he takes on Mike Rogers in the general election…
It is genuinely one of the greatest things that's ever been invented.
Absolutely insane numbers from Eli Lilly this morning. 15 billion dollars in sales for tirzepatide alone, in just 90 days. Now on track to ~55-60 billion in sales for one drug. We need a different term than blockbuster drug. This is wild.
It's a pretty weird framing for his "parents' address," tbh but also yeah, outside of being a college kid, this is weird.
NEW: After James Talarico accused Ken Paxton of committing voter fraud, ProPublica and @texastribune.org found that the Democratic Senate candidate may have voted in up to five elections using an address where he no longer lived.
The funny thing is, the next Dem AG can just tear this up and prosecute every Trump family member into dust. Add some inventive charges too. Fuck these people.
Trump owes more than $100 million in unpaid taxes, so this is just a giant free check he gave to himself with taxpayer dollars
Haley Stevens right now making a “we don’t know yet” speech that pivots nicely into conciliation and working together to beat Rogers and Trump. Hopefully this state tone no matter what happens.
McMorrow would have won this, and between Mills and Stevens, the DSCC / senate leadership seems to be misjudging the D voter base right now
Is Gillibrand on crack? Why was she telling donors, without a shred of evidence, that Mallory McMorrow is a DSA member???
Trump's guy is losing to someone who isn't even running anymore because his name is Amir Hassan and though he's an evangelical Christian, MAGAts assume he's Muslim. Who could've seen that coming?
Seems like an upset might be brewing in the GOP primary in #MI08 to take on Dem Rep. Kristen McDonald Rivet. Trump endorsed Amir Hassan, but he currently trails an absolute nobody who suspended his campaign a month ago by a wide margin.
One thing people should notice, Dems are turning out in almost 2X the numbers of GOP in Michigan so far for this
folks this is what Vote Blue No Matter Who actually means we buckle down and beat Mike Rogers in November no matter how this finishes
Yeah this is gonna be fucking miserable
DDHQ Race Update (est. 36% in): Michigan US Senate Democratic Primary Abdul El-Sayed (D): 278,395 (50.4%) Haley Stevens (D): 254,548 (46.0%) Mallory McMorrow (D): 19,917 (3.6%) Follow more results here: votes.decisiondeskhq.com/races/283906
I guess my reaction to Michigan Senate is, vote blue no matter who, but jfc (regardless of ultimate winner, at this point). I haven't been shy about my dislike for Stevens.
The numbers coming out of Detroit are not enough for Stevens. It’s a bloodbath
Look, I'm generally against the "blame AIPAC" thing because of where it tends to lead but fuck man, they are not helping themselves or the cause they claim to represent.
Half of the $62 million spent by outside groups in Michigan spent to support Stevens came from AIPAC.
Really feel like it should be a bigger deal that the US government is doing the Hunger Games but idk
There are 5 days until Trump's Patriot Games, where one young man and young woman from each state compete in a series of "demanding physical and mental challenges."
the intentional abdication by Congress of nearly all of its constitutional responsibilities is at the core of most of our problems as a nation
Cornyn: "There's nothing we could do to rein in the president"
Put 'em all in jail. Every last one of them.
In today's edition of the Article I Crisis.
Put every elected Republican--and former elected Republican--in jail for the rest of their lives. You want politicization? You fuckers shouldn't get to walk free.
Tillis admits Trump is weaponizing the DOJ during his speech announcing he'll vote for Todd Blanche: "Maybe it's a little bit more intense in this administration than the last one ... I'm going to support Mr Blanche's nomination"
The next Dem Admin must go scorched earth not just against the Trumps, but against every Republican politician on planet earth. Make them hurt for what they did to this country.
Tillis and Cornyn have caved to Trump’s $100 million IRS immunity, but that’s just one reason to reject him as AG. Here are many more:
If this dumbass is going to endanger over a decade of turning WI blue because she can't rein it in, I swear to god
one thing that I appreciated about Zohran was his willingness to backtrack from some of the Woke 1.0 era posts that didn’t age well and were posted in a different context. I do not understand why Hong is incapable of doing that, especially since she is running in a swing state instead of NYC
In other words, going from a constitutional right (Roe) to a constitutional state by state decision (Dobbs) to a constitutional rule of no abortions. What is the DOJ/legal underpinning for that? There isn't one. Ladies & Gentlemen, your lawless soon-to-be AG. www.politico.com/news/2026/08...
Blanche assures anti-abortion supporters that Dobbs will be ‘permanent in every single state’
