GameSpot folks deserve so much better than Fandom's executive leadership. GameSpot could have grown bigger than IGN if it hadn't been constantly tossed between owners who'd lose interest before the ink on the acquisition paperwork dried. A victim of a decade of utter negligence.

I don’t want this point to be lost in the discourse. Going digital-only means inequity for people who cannot afford internet or constantly purchasing new games. Libraries provide opportunities for people to experience games they otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford, and that will be lost.

My child loves going to the library and checking out a new video game every week. Going digital only eliminates libraries as a way people can access games.

I went to the countryside and did a little game jam last weekend. Finally got around to make a proper game out of all the oscilloscope stuff I got figured out years ago. This is snek, two player versus, one button per player. Eat the other players tail to win.

If Sasha and the new Xbox regime are looking for "only the big hitters" and sustainability, I do wonder if Game Pass as a whole is on the chopping block too eventually. These studios rumored to be shut down today all felt very geared towards making stuff for Game Pass. Just a hunch I have anyway.

Ubisoft EMBARGOED news to outlets about the layoffs and studio closures, FYI. Employees were told this morning. And then many reached out to us. Companies trying to embargo layoffs and closures might be the most embarrassing thing I've ever seen in my 16 years.

Damn, Ubisoft Winnipeg always felt like this far off dream of the video game industry having some sorta presence where I grew up and just like that the space is way smaller. I believe there's only 2 notable studios here now in Winnipeg in Complex Games and Zenfri. Absolute shame on Ubisoft's part.
