I think the greatest trick for getting good at creative work i know is - finish making as many mediocre things as possible. Just finish stuff, again and again. Share it or don’t, but put a bow on it, put it aside, make the next thing, repeat.

If anyone's looking for an ereader recommendation that's not Kindle, I super love the Kobo! It's really easy to get library check outs on it and easy to side load self published epubs if you know authors who sell their books on their websites.

YES. At C2E2 last weekend, a piece of advice I gave out a LOT was, just... make a li'l 20-page story, first. Do not come out of the gate first-thing with your "Love and Rockets"-length magnum opus. That is a mistake. TAKE IT FROM SOMEONE WHO KNOOOOWS

There are only 52 weeks in a year, if you draw slowly because you also work full time, please realize that's probably something around 52 pages. A year. Are you okay with committing to a 500 page long story lol
