If you ever question if your fanfic is too self indulgent please remember that’s actually the point of fanfiction
One of my greatest wishes for the comic industry is for it to be treated as a respected medium that can be chosen on its merits for storytelling rather than an IP farm for other mediums. I have wished for this since I noticed how bad it was getting in 2012. It's only gotten worse.
Marvel Comics to Leave New York and Move Staffers to L.A. as Part of Major Overhaul (Exclusive)
Last year I presented on Star Trek and had so much fun! This year I'm considering pitching a panel idea again. I have ideas... 😈😏🚨

you know how in Sailor Moon it's like. if any new trendy product or shop or something pops up you're like DUDE DON'T GO IT'S A TRAP YOU'RE GONNA GET YOUR ENERGY STOLEN this is how fun little social media trends feel in the age of AI 🫠
How was it that I was just rewatching this with @saffronscarf.bsky.social last night after yeaaaars of not seeing it only to open bsky and here it is again.
We’re just innocent men
I love New York.
A $3 @mta.info subway fare and some good Q train timing can buy you one hell of a view of the July 4th fireworks and the Brooklyn Bridge light show! Huge shoutout to the train operator for slow rolling over the Manhattan Bridge and the conductor for announcing it.
It's never too late to start masking again! We've known that conventions and fests are superspreader events for decades, you don't have to get sick! COVID is still here and leaving so many disabled people isolated from most public spaces. If you don't want that to happen to you, wear a mask!
As convention season gets underway, a reminder that we have an ongoing masking initiative pushing to make all comic events safer for all of us! 🧵1/3 ( art by @orchiscribbles.bsky.social )

One of my favorites!
TBT: “The Prince and the Dressmaker” is a 2018 graphic novel by Jen Wang. Set in Paris “at the dawn of the modern age,” it’s a deeply human, proudly queer fairytale about love & identity amid social pressures & changes. It also powerfully celebrates the concept of gender euphoria. 1/13 #PrideMonth
One more for #terriblecomicday Is this a terrible thing to do to some precious muppets? Or is it everything they deserve??? Happy Pride Month, lol
it's basically the number one rule to any medium ; you can't just tunnel-vision and pigeon hold yourself into a corner. that niche may feel comfortable but it's stifling and prevents you from seeing "the bigger picture" in any sort of artistic/cultural context
For Vogue, I talked to Ramell-Correen Frederick, aka Cheeks, who embroidered Knicks gear in the streets of Brooklyn after Game 5. He uses a 104-year-old hand-crank, chainstitch embroidery machine that he named Jessica.

Someone asked which muppet is most out of pocket on Sesame Street in the wake of the Knicks win. While there are lots of good answers, we actually have photographic evidence for this one

You know what, I love little guys, I'm gonna make a thread. Will update every time I think of more 🔽🧵: - Faience Hippo (William) Middle Kingdom. Egypt - Amber Bear. Mesolithic or Proto-Neolithic. Poland - Hedgehog holding bowl. Early Cycladic II period. Greece. - Bowl with feet. Predynastic. Egypt.
Y'all. Please remember the artists that drew these things when sending around memes. I feel for these artists who NEVER get credited for these (and some, nowadays, are even being accused of being AI!) Here's a few common ones I see (feel free to add others, I want this to be a living thread): 🧵
Persepolis - Eye of the Tiger (2007)
RIP Marjane Satrapi (1969-2026)
"fiction normalizes—" idk abt any of that but I think social media has normalized absolutely batshit behavior and social conventions that are inconceivable to anyone that is actually well-balanced and thriving in the real world and that's a bigger problem than fiction will ever be
You ever just gotta get up and look at some rocks and minerals
