E-bikes give people affordable, clean transportation. If kids are getting hit by pickup trucks, the answer isn’t to treat e-bikes like the problem; it’s protected bike lanes, safer crossings, lower traffic speeds, and infrastructure that keeps everyone separated from multi-ton vehicles.

One of the problems of "cyclists don't stop at stop signs" is A) a lot of them do and B) if they DO run a sign, it's usually because doing so is safer for everyone involved or to have more time to manage a road hazard up ahead.

I remember lots of people out walking and biking on our neighborhood streets because we wanted some fresh air and there were no cars. In my house we were all working or going to school at home and we would go for a daily family bike ride around town.

My memory of the alleged lockdown was that a bunch of things closed because everyone got sick. I went to work every day; we arranged schedules so we didn't immediately follow each other into airstudios. I remember getting a special pass to be on the roads, which no one ever asked to see.

"Typical cyclist" is such a weird attempt at an insult. I'm a big fan of the typical cyclist. When I have occasion to have beef with cyclists, it's almost exclusively with individuals. On the whole, cyclists are making a pro-social choice despite being maligned & endangered for it.
