for reasons that only make sense if you're insane, a TPUSA kid complaining about burrito costs on xitter has the GOP's biggest divas going for each other's throats.

A lot of people, if not a considerable majority, occupy that passive acceptance as the status quo space, so what more rabid white supremacists have done is effectively create a motte and bailey argument where they get to push their ideas for global genocide and then retreat to the status quo bias.

One of the hardest things to teach people is that white supremacy doesn't require racial hatred to keep itself going, and this thread kind of does a good job at pointing out how and why that happens.

I think a good way to think about the current moment is understanding white supremacy as a spectrum with passive acceptance as the status quo out to actively arguing for global genocide.

Councilor Louijeune, who proposed the resolution, said the city is already working (along with groups like the United Way) to help local Haitians) and has several ways to help thousands of fellow Bostonians, but today's court action increases the urgency.

Councilor Flynn just blocked a non-binding resolution calling on the city to set up a coordinated emergency response plan to help Haitian immigrants facing loss of their homes now that they lost their TPS status today. Flynn wants more info on how much helping Haitians in Boston would cost. 1/2

The thing about a movie where nobody has premarital sex is that even when premarital sex was outlawed nobody was really interested in rigorously enforcing it most of the time. Instead you basically need a social taboo, and the social taboo is more interesting than the enforcement mechanics.

Literally I did a whole thread on why this might happened, explicitly detailed how I slightly reconfigured my commute to not do this, and I still had people whining at me about how they're supposedly getting buzzed by the entire Tour De France.

My impression as a non-Michigander is that this primary was a lot uglier online than it was in-person, similar to Texas, and no matter who won there would be very few bitter primary voters sitting out the general. Nevertheless some people should consider why this is a big channel for their rage.

My strong sense is that consumer LLMs have revealed how worthless and evil upper management is, and how much they resent having to send us worker bees "motivational" emails or doing any work, really, and assumed our jobs were just like that.
