And hoping the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals or THIS SCOTUS uphold the Constitution is not a bet I'd recommend making. Instead, here are some concrete actions you can do. First, if you're in a blue state, tell your state attorney general to intervene on behalf of WPATH.

they’re trying it 3 big ways right now (& a bunch of smaller ones). there’s an HHS rule to fight, too. under the proposed rule, any facility taking medicare/medicaid would be barred from providing trans care to any child even if medicare/medicaid isn’t involved. this one doesn’t even take a call!

so like, i’m aware that it’s not a done deal that all dems vote no on this bill flooding folks’ offices with calls tomorrow is probably a good idea if you care about the trans folks in your life

if they just call every complaint a title ix complaint it engages specific federal channels that presumably they believe the administration will be able to use to support them. so that's what i figure they're doing.

For trans folks trying to parse the federal bills; this is my TL;DR: 1. The National Defense Authorization Act *will* pass w/harmful riders - it is a win that any were stripped out. 2. The GOP Healthcare proposal w/ban language *won’t* pass - it’s all messaging. Always worth calling your reps!

both parts of this matter: this would be a near ban in all states; there’s a runway here where fighting back helps hold up falling sky for trans kids. every day matters. & if you’re like “it’ll be fine—they’ll just wait til after trump” i want you to recall what happened to *your* body from 14-17.

A near ban in all states
Both supporters and opponents of transgender rights agree that, taken together, the forthcoming rules could make access to pediatric gender-affirming care across the country extremely difficult, if not impossible.
The care is already banned in 27 states.
"These rules would be a significant escalation in the Trump administration's attack on access to transgender health care," says Katie Keith, director of the Center for Health Policy and the Law at Georgetown University.
"I think it's really, really important to note that nothing is changing immediately," she explains.
"These would be proposals that would go out for public comment, it would take months for the Trump administration to issue a final rule, and then, if past is prologue, we would see litigation over whatever the final rules are."

The White House plans to bar hospitals that treat transgender children and youth from getting any Medicare and Medicaid payments. The move would affect trans youth who have private insurance, too. n.pr/4qFa1mY

hi, cis folks! trans people need your help! the FY26 budget gets a vote by 9/30. GOP wants a ban on funds for ALL health services that provide trans care for ANY AGE. they're trying for other bans, too. we need you to call senators like chuck who don't get it: reps.fyi info & script in the🧵⬇️

Schumer on government funding: "Our position remains this: We want to keep the government open by engaging in bipartisan negotiation where we can address some of the grave harms Donald Trump has caused to our health care system and help Americans with the cost of living."

so like, it’s not in the cr but trump can demand it be a part of funding govt whether thru cr later or funding bill later and essentially the rules are made up, points don’t matter, etc point is this is m a must-get and has been
