Stuff like that is why my hackles get elevated when I hear people saying stuff like "All the kids want is Roblox and Gacha, not REAL videogames." Nah, the folks making the most authentically retro stuff out there (Endacopia is Adventure Game Studio!) are younger than the games they're referencing.

My character for a friend's upcoming campaign - Pala, a faun druid from a secluded forest whose love for all life is boundless. They're all too eager to learn what wonders the outside world holds, but might be a bit unprepared for some of the realities. #art #oc

A gangly faun character, a little more antelope-like than goat-like, beaming with enthusiasm (and displaying chipped buck teeth in the process). They have bushy long red hair, the sidelocks turned into long braids, and wear a long green-and-blue tasseled cape. The staff they clutch is a long, gnarled tree branch, with shelf fungi growing on one corner, a woodpecker poking out of a hole in the next, and a rhinoceros beetle clinging on at the end.

feels like a lot of people online see ppl moralizing taste in fiction (reading Problematic Books will taint you, etc.) and respond not with "the fiction you engage with doesn't reflect your moral fiber" but rather by flipping it and saying liking more transgressive art makes you a better person

To be (un)fair, many many people out there are actually very good at interpreting subtext right up until they encounter transfemininity, at which point they would rather see characters as anything between cisgender femboy and detransitioned transmasc, but definitely not A Girl

can i be frank and say the post 2010s turn of "this character is not explicitly queer & trans unless they turn to the camera and directly say their identity" which while coming from positive intentions of explicit representation which is Good has sort of had the downside of queer/trans erasure

The bipartisan effort to discredit Mamdani is because he makes too much sense. It’s much easier to explain why you don’t support a genocidal apartheid government than justifying how Israel’s brutal government is an important ally. Mamdani is more in touch with Dem voters than most Dems in congress
