What's the best three album run from a band? (the correct answer is Moving Pictures, Signals, and Grace Under Pressure by Rush, but I'm excited to learn second place)

Today is Roma Holocaust Memorial Day. Around 500,000 Roma & Sinti people were killed by the Nazis in the Porajmos. There was no state given to them after the war. Commemoration of their suffering is often diminished or forgotten. Racism towards Romani people across Europe remains acceptable.

Everything I’ve seen about the spycops inquiry suggests that it was always about bullying, molesting and generally fucking with a bunch of greenies and antinuclear protestors, because they are the kind of people the state can fuck over and stomp on with impunity, for fun.

US narrative is more complicated for various reasons, but "summer 2020 rishi sunsk started the covid revival project with eat out to help out, and by january everything was so fucked they had to lock down the whole country for 5 more months" is simple, true, and all these weirdos have just forgotten

I go back to that Times Radio show where Matt Chorley and a colleague were giggling about their favourite Boris Johnson, What A Legend moment and another colleague said she didn’t have one, because Covid 19 had killed her mother and everyone else on her floor of her care home within a few weeks.

Remember, in January 2021, after the govt lost control of Covid infections for the second time, a thousand people a day were dying in the UK. Without lockdowns, we still had no means of slowing that explosion. And that’s apart from all the other ways this claim is just stupid.

People really do project knowledge backwards. All the decisions which were made during the pandemic were made with hospitals at capacity, people dying and becoming severely disabled, and no knowledge of what future variants would emerge or how dangerous they might be.

The Met Police arrested people for all sorts of ludicrous reasons, including putting down a tiny stand so that people sharing poetry and song could be heard. No amplification was used at all. One muslim woman was arrested for simply greeting the crowd. She said nothing unlawful.

"Lord" Walney, AKA John Woodcock, is - outside of his authoritarian views - a racist who argued that Moazzam Begg should have his passport revoked for standing up for Gazans, and who left the Labour party after accusations of bullying and sexual misconduct. Why should anyone listen to him?

Just had a cringe flashback to a couple of summers ago when, walking down the street, I hadn't realised my Bluetooth had disconnected from my headphones and I was confused as to why The Robots by Kraftwerk was playing so quietly so I whacked it up to full volume and carried on. Lots of looks my way
