I think a classic example of this was when the endlessly tedious "Poppywatch" account tweeted a picture of Prince Philip in uniform at the Festival of Remembrance with "what did you get those medals for, Phil?" when the response was "he's a Second World War veteran who was Mentioned in Despatches?"
Also, to be clear here: Algerian Indepdence and Vietnamese Unification were both marked by masses of ethnic, religious and political violence and expulsions, and I think it's fair to call of that senseless and unconscionable. 7/10 *did not* help Palestine.
