Ever felt grass? Life-changing shit tbh

now that we know how the new season of Reacher is (excellent), a thread about why you should watch What If A Man Was Large, The Show, in the form of a Q&A

It sure would be nice if I could read a critique of Fukuyama's "The End of History and the Last Man" written by someone who'd actually read the book--or who is at least responding to something more than their literal reading of the title.

This is the part where all the DSA boosters tell us that we don't actually care about Ukraine, we just say we care about it so we can use their dogshit opinions as a club to hit them with because caring about foreign policy issues isn't a real thing liberals do

Republicans Against Trumpism@rpsagainsttrump.bsky.social · last wk.

Remnick: So we shouldn't send weapons to Ukraine? DSA co-chair Megan Romer: No! Remnick: So, just allow Russia to overrun Ukraine entirely? Romer: We should be sending huge teams of diplomats. We should figure out how to negotiate.w

I'd just like to mention that violence is a means of communication. I am signaling my intentions and conveying my very clear stance on the matter by sending a JDAM through a Russian soldier's head.

t-minus two days until What If A Man Was Large, The TV Show returns if you have not yet watched Reacher now is a great time to start

healthcare needs to become cheaper. do not touch my job as a travel nurse. higher education costs are out of control. do not touch my friend who makes six figures as university admin. housing needs to be more affordable. I will fucking kill you if you hurt my property value.

There is a substantive difference between a defensive action, like shooting back at pogromists and lynch mobs, and an offensive action, like bringing rifles along to set off fireworks outside ICE detention centers. One is easily portrayed as self-defense, the other is easily portrayed as terrorism.

I think today's liberals in the US are used to a social environment where pogroms are rare and don't realize the role armed self defense plays in that state of affairs www.history.com/articles/red...

If you’re really going to dance this dance just fucking commit to the bit and defend them for shooting a cop, don’t do this “oh muh smol bean didn’t mean to hurt anyone when they opened fire and besides it was just a basically harmless ricochet, what even are handling safety rules” coward shit

I feel like a lot of people are ideologically invested in a post American world that has yet to arrive Like no, sorry, this is it! This is the thing you’ve been waiting for! No returns or exchanges; feel free to leave a review though

Yeah don't do this 18 USC 2232(a) is not even a little bit vague on this point, if you try to prevent the government from searching or seizing something it is legally empowered to search or seize, that's a for-real felony. This is only the first such application because duress passcodes are new.

Zack Whittaker@zackwhittaker.com · 4w ago

New, by me: The Justice Department is prosecuting an American for allegedly providing U.S. border agents with a "duress" passcode that wiped the contents of his phone when they entered it. We've confirmed the phone was running GrapheneOS. Bypass for ad-blockers: web.archive.org/web/20260724...

More to the point, that the rest of the DSA hasn’t been able to bring them to heel speaks volumes as to their internal dysfunction. It’s why “well, join and persuade from inside the tent” is not an effective rejoinder to criticism of the IC and their influence on DSA’s foreign policy.

What I think some liberal DSA people are missing is that this isn't necessarily about the tankies being a threat or morally worse than The Blob, it's that having to engage and take seriously people who are *completely irrelevant* everywhere else is profoundly exhausting and a big turn-off.
