The new MR 483 class runs beautifully. Sadly she is very weak and can only manage 4 cars. Ignore the Reading coaches, was the only contemporary passenger stock to hand.

Back again working on my Canadian client David’s layout this weekend. Today I installed the NCE DCC system (good riddance Digitrax), ballasted more track, programmed the turntable, played trains just a little and did a bunch of other odd jobs. Some big stuff to come tomorrow…
Had a fantastic visit back to the Snowdon Mountain Railway at the start of the summer. Running from Llanberis right up towards the summit, the views across Eryri and the sheer engineering of this unique line never fail to impress 🚂🏴

I'm no expert, but I'm sure locos have been brought back from worst than this. I understand they would have attained a lot of fire damage but, unless the heat has warped the metal to an unsalvageable degree, I don't think it looks out of the question even for cosmetic restoration.

New toy came in. A Rapido UK Midland 483 Class in wonderful full crimson lake. As is my way, Ive already added scale couplers, lamps, crew, and coal load. Friday hopefully I can break her in properly.
