FACT OF THE DAY. 11 August 1968. Last steam train ran on British Rail. The final journey was by the, Stanier Five Black Locomotive 45110 from Carlisle to Liverpool’s Lime Street Station. The ban on steam was lifted in 1971 thereby paving the way for the many heritage specials which now operate.

I’ve had a Triang Zenith motor kicking about for half a year now, but I’m only just noticing how much smaller it is than the regular Triang motors I’ve plans for what this will go into, but I shan’t spoil anything yet…
I have achieved the MOST difficult thing to ever in HO scale: I've successfully replaced the gears on an MDC shay, and it actually RUNS properly!!! I'm honestly flabbergasted. They're notorious for being terrible runners.
