Last year I re-connected with the #ElixirLang community at AlchemyConf and Goatmire—very excited to head back to ElixirConf (flying tomorrow to Chicago)!

I’d really appreciate it if my brain would restrict work-related creative pondering (and maybe especially significant breakthroughs) to my normally scheduled work hours, thank you.
I don’t work with XML in anger much anymore, but when I do I wonder how I could ever forget how woefully inadequate and frustrating Erlang/OTP’s built-in support tends to be. (Today’s gripe brought to you by me trying to use `xmerl_xsd` to validate against a spec that `xmllint` deals with handily.)
There’s a lot to like about gleam, but one aspect that doesn’t get a lot of attention is the security focus of the development team. Gleam offers great tooling and platforms for building secure and resilient web applications and services. gleam.run/news/help-fr...

This is, and I am not even joking, going to fuck up so many hyperlexic kids. I got accused of plagiarism because I used the word “porous” in a sixth grade paper and that shit sticks with you, if not on the permanent record, then in the childhood.
oh come on
Me: "It's time to start eating healthy." Lettuce: "I'm going to give you explosive diarrhea!" Chips and cookies in my pantry: "I would never do that to you."
I was born in AZ and spent much of my youth in the Mojave and Sonoran deserts; some great advice here!
This will be a thread of tips for people suffering through their first god-awful heat wave with no or subpar AC. I'm a perpetually broke Southern Californian so my ideas run cheap.
I have been having the *best* time building a terrible, old school MUD (with new school twists) using #gleamlang lately. I highly recommend indulging yourself in nostalgic rebuild projects from time-to-time—even ones you may never share—they’re a blast!
folks when we find a guy who's saying a bunch of dumbass shit can we get back to blocking them instead of screenshotting them and talking about their dumbass shit? these losers are not worth our time & when we let them waste it we insult the revolution
I love how deliciously chaotic peonies can be, and how that’s a defining feature of their beauty. (Filed under “consoling thoughts that I tell myself any time I `git push` something to other human beings.”)
Something I’ve discovered about myself: while I absolutely love to cook and enjoy challenging recipes in real life, if you make me cook in your game and you haven’t made it at least as simple as a Zelda’s, I feel both too dumb and too bored to bother.
🚨 Update absinthe 🚨 Yesterday 2 CVEs for "absinthe" were released. The vulnerabilities can exhaust your CPU and atom tables. Update ASAP Thank you Curtis Schiewek and team for the quick fix and to @maennchen.dev for managing the release cna.erlef.org/cves/CVE-202... cna.erlef.org/cves/CVE-202...

Very excited to be planning a return trip to South Korea next year… and to be going in the Spring. I largely grew up in the deserts of the US Southwest and humidity of the Southeast—but nothing could have prepared me for touring South Korea during last year’s heatwaves.

While I appreciate Trader Joe’s attempts to support my healthy intake of protein, I could have used one less dead caterpillar 🐛 (or more, though I hope not) in my bagged salad greens today…
i feel like if i was tasked with not starting a war and bringing back US manufacturing jobs, i could have done a better job than this
