I found that after ignoring 99% of online discourse about technology my sanity has improved. It's sad because I grew up on an internet where you learned something useful on the regular(except for elitist assholes), now it's pure shilling, false claims, and dogma around millionaire charlatans.

Friendly reminder that these things aren't impacted by closing the Strait of Hormuz so maybe, just maybe, we should implement them to avoid being impacted by future conflicts: -Solar panels -Wind turbines -Battery storage -Electric vehicles -Bicycles -Natural fertilizers -Electric heat pumps

part of why I don't like AI is bc it's so often the antithesis of caring for the little things, the appreciation of the mundane, of seeing beauty where others haven't yet been able to, and seeking genuine fundamental understanding all in the name of "get product faster" I find it so disheartening

PSA (especially to journalists): It’s not a “rogue AI” when a badly made security harness executes scripts fed to it by statistical text generation—it’s just humans making and/or using broken software.

Wait, you… use libraries? Code that other people wrote for you? You just… download it? Do you even read the code? Do you not care about the craft, the knowledge that comes from putting in the work yourself? Aren’t you afraid your skills will atrophy?

OpenAI wanting the US government to take 5% is not "democratization" or something, it's a bailout. OpenAI can't get the money from private investors or the stock market and needs the hole in their budget filled so they are trying to take US tax dollars.

crazy to me that rich people have been so successful in perpetuating the lie that the poor are stealing from everyone. they don't have any money. the rich people are the ones with the money! that's who stole the money

Ford has rehired hundreds of senior engineers after replacing them with AI backfired and has cost the company billions of dollars. AI adoption is blamed for Ford being the most recalled automaker in the U.S. with 51 recalls covering over 11 million vehicles in the first half of 2026 alone.

SoftBank’s investor presentation is one of the greatest things ever made. I’ve been thinking about it all day. These are the real slides shown in a speech where Masayoshi Son said he wouldn’t retire for at least another decade. The goose stuff is truly demented. Bravo group.softbank/media/Projec...
