Nearly every one of El-Sayed's issue positions is supported by a majority. In fact, his stands are the center of American politics today. Saying he is far left/left wing is just so old. The center of American politics has moved over the last 30 years, and El-Sayed's position are center now.
It’s crazy. Everytime anyone writes about or interviews El-Sayed they ask about Hasan Piker and no one ever bothers centrist Democrats about supporters who traffic in genocidal language every single day. It’s almost like, and surely can’t be, that there’s an effort to undermine leftist candidates.
For the sake of Democratic Party cohesion, it should become conventional wisdom sooner rather than later that AIPAC is in the general sense little more than a Republican donor front.
AIPAC is the biggest source of Republican money in Democratic elections, and now they are making clear they will spend even more to defeat Democrats in November. They advocate for policies the vast majority of Democrats viscerally disagree with. No Democrat should be taking money from AIPAC.
Major congratulations to @abdulelsayed.bsky.social, @donavanmckinney.bsky.social & @wewill2026.bsky.social for their victories in Michigan. Proud to support them. (1/4)
Abdul El-Sayed's victory is the most significant Dem primary upset since Obama — who actually won by a narrower margin than El-Sayed www.kenklippenstein.com/p/chuck-schu...

(regular voter voice) Well ah I don't really know about Israel and all that but it sounds like this group wants to help Trump keep the Senate and enable his ongoing crime spree and I'm against that
AIPAC: "Our members remain determined to ensure that voters reject Dr. El-Sayed and his radical anti-Israel agenda in November."
If AIPAC's commitment to arming a rogue state isn't enough for you, I cannot emphasize enough that this organization is just a slush fund for GOP donors to influence Dem races. Their donor base is mostly conservatives who want Republicans to win.

media when maga wins an election: we must travel the country and speak to these voters and extend empathy to them and give credence to their bigotry and false beliefs media when the left wins an election: is this the end of the american experiment
Both Abdul and Chris Gilmer-Hill won HD-08 yesterday, with Abdul with a larger margin. Both of them lost the HD-08 part of Detroit but cleaned up in the White suburbs in Oakland County
Helena Scott is also indifferent about a Republican winning in November

The topline from Abdul El-Sayed’s win is that his platform for change still managed to win despite grotesque levels of outside campaign spending and a racist smear campaign to paint him as un-American. The grassroots desire to upset the status quo is that powerful.
Prepare for an insane explosion of Islamophobia between now and November, from the same people on the right (and center!) who pretend to be exercised by the rise in anti-Jewish bigotry. The hate will be off the charts and make the anti-Zohran campaign look tame. Mark my words.

JD Vance: "We don't want the next administration, whoever -- god forbid you're gonna have President El-Sayed in three years ... "
Imagine Donald Trump endorsed a candidate for Senate in the Republican Primary and they lost after spending 12X their opponent on ads. Do you think we'd be seeing these kinds of articles?
Progressives didn’t get the big election night they wanted
Abdul El-Sayed’s win represents a big blow to the politics of bygone days. Because if one campaign can show that *that* much money and *that* much old guard support doesn’t guarantee victory, it cracks open what can be imagined. It widens the aperture of what’s possible.
Will This Be AIPAC’s Biggest Defeat – Ever?
Prem was on hand in Michigan to witness the nail-biter between Abdul El-Sayed and Haley Stevens, which appears to have gone down as an astonishing failure for AIPAC.

If Stevens won they would not print that moderates didn’t get the big election night they wanted, they would print that moderates have struck back and reasserted their place leading the party

Someone needs to go over the insane tactics used against McKinney and El Sayed for this primary. Nonstop calls+texts, attack ads galore, outright lies spread. If we don't like it being done all the time by Republicans, why do we accept it in Dem primaries?
WASHINGTON (AP) — Donavan McKinney wins Democratic nomination for U.S. House in Michigan's 13th Congressional District.

A gracious concession: “I want to congratulate Abdul El-Sayed on winning the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate. He is a doctor, a community health official, a Rhodes Scholar, and a dedicated Michigander. I am proud to offer my support as he takes on Mike Rogers in the general election…
1. the whole "disappointing night" thing is pure cope. El-Sayed beat the establishment candidate despite being outspent 10:1, that's an earthquake 2. primary polls are just not great and everyone needs to spend the next week going really, really hard for Peggy Flanagan
*spends $70 million dollars* *loses* "lol your victory was sooo tiny, i'm sooo not mad right now nope nuh uh"

I am hearing that Haley Stevens received the light of Islam and unhesitatingly recited the Shahada. Even now she looks down on the Ummah from the gardens of Jannah. Truly there is no god but Allah, and Mohammad is his prophet!
The youth claim to hate capitalism yet they purchase goods and services in order to survive ahaha and I am very Fortune Magazine
The media's takeaway from an El-Sayed win is the same as it would have been from a Stevens win, and the same as it will be if El-Sayed wins the general, or if he loses it: everyone, no matter who they are, needs to take several steps to the right.
If progressives lose, it’s bad for progressives. If progressives win, though, it’s also bad for progressives. Gotta love narrative setting.
Progressives didn’t get the big election night they wanted
Rather absurd framing when you consider the results up and down the ballot, and where expectations were before just the last few weeks.

I couldn’t be prouder of the movement we’ve built in mid-Michigan. Thank you, Ambassador Bridget Brink and Matt Maasdam, for your years of public service and all your hard work on the campaign trail. While tonight we celebrate, there’s still much more work ahead.
