On this day in 1921, Maurice "The Rocket" Richard was born in Montreal. A hockey icon, he was the first NHL player to score 50 goals in a season (which he did in 50 games) and the first to have 500 career goals. He won a Hart Trophy and eight Stanley Cups. 📸 NHL

He is holding his hockey stick with both hands, skating toward a puck in front of him, with one skate lifted off the ice. 1. Newer writers, just don't fucking use "AI" for anything, ever 2. How odd that being an established writer with a firm "no 'AI'" stance and ample pre-"AI" IP will become a definite competitive advantage over "new, hot, and possibly copyright compromised" deadline.com/2026/07/ai-q...

AI Questions Spoil Book & Movie Heat On 'Call Me, I'll Hide The Body' Novel

An article I never thought I would have to write, but there we are. My latest for @thehockeynews.bsky.social on the women's side of the game is all about athletes being human beings first and foremost, and being their own person, no matter how fans feel about them. #PWHL #GoVictoire

Marie-Philip Poulin is scheduled to undergo surgery on her right knee this month, but some fans feel she should have done that earlier in the summer instead of going on safari. As @karinehains.bsky.social writes, it's unfair criticism of the legend. thehockeynews.com/womens/pwhl/...

Every time someone calls Hegseth's testosterone program or Elon's hair plugs "gender affirming care," I wince. Speaking only for myself, and I know the jokes are well-intentioned: I wish we'd retire this one. New from me on why. www.readtpa.com/p/theres-no-...

There’s No Gotcha Here

Calling Hegseth’s testosterone program "gender-affirming care" trivializes trans healthcare and misreads what we’re up against. Speaking only for myself: knock it off
