Good family attorneys sue fed officials/agents under the KKK Act. Attorney Ben Berkman: "Renee's death was the predictable result of a coordinated campaign by senior administration officials, a campaign to silence Somali and Hispanic Minnesotans and to silence anyone who dared to raise their voice."

This is the 59th death in ICE detention since Trump took office.
Another person has died in Trump's concentration camps. 47-year-old Julian Curo-Churata was from Peru. He died on Sept. 29 after he was imprisoned for three months in Richwood Correctional Center in Louisiana. That camp is run by LaSalle Corrections. There's no cause of death listed.
"We're everywhere for many years." That oughta settle down the whiners.
Trump defends his war in Iran in new TIME interview. Interviewer: I feel like most people heard you say 4-6 weeks. Trump: No, I think the press fed it to them. We were in Vietnam for 21, 20, years. We were in Afghanistan for many years. We were in Korea for many. We're everywhere for many years.

There is a moment at the very very end of Abdul El-Sayed's podcast with Ezra Klein (book recommendation section) where he talks about the idea of "speaking truth to pain" and this will be staying with me for an extremely long time. www.nytimes.com/2026/09/25/o...
This has to be fun, right?

The collapse of support for Trump in the Rio Grande Valley is a big story of the moment. It's more deserving of our attention than what some centrist tweeted somewhere, believe it or not.
Massively important story. We’ll see how this goes, but Talarico isn’t within striking range because of some kind of heterodox move to the right. He’s making a strong, clear case for ideas that work better than plainly horrific Republican ones.
Yes, it’s true! @aoc.bsky.social and former Republican congressman Denver Riggleman have BOTH endorsed @tomperriello.bsky.social because they know he will actually represent his constituents!
Great thread and fantastic article on Talarico and the path on immigration for Democrats from @gregsargent.bsky.social
Something remarkable is happening: James Talarico is running an expansively pro-immigrant campaign in Texas, a state Trump won by 14 points, speaking in Biblical terms about our duty to "the stranger." And it's resonating. That's seismic. 1/ (new piece) newrepublic.com/article/2160...

It’s also really clear to me this week that the people telling us that AI will transform work…haven’t seen a lot of jobs where people work.
This is so funny. Worth 4 minutes 😂. The look on his face as he’s trying to remember if a completely false thing is possible and if he really has misremembered something during an important event…
🤡 Schmitt beclowns himself 🤡 Schmitt concocted an elaborate conspiracy theory that Smith traveled to Atl for a Hawks game and to collude with Fani Willis, & flashed his "evidence" before accusing Smith of perjury. There's just one problem -- his facts were totally wrong. Here's the whole sequence:
I believe that Dr. Ellora Derenoncourt is the first Black woman economist EVER to be named a MacArthur Genius. My heart is bursting. I am OVERJOYED.

Yup, absolutely. I think it’s wrong to treat the Iran War as simply one bad error that happened to the Trump Admin rather than the entirely logical consequence of the way it operates. If it wasn’t Iran, it would almost certainly have been something else
FWIW, I think a fuckup on this scale in time to wreck them electorally was *almost* inevitable from Day 1, precisely because this is the Special Birthday Boy presidency in which there are almost no limits on Trump's madness and every proposed policy disaster has a real shot at going all the way.
We read this in my women’s history today (comparing it to Republican Motherhood) and I tried to get them to engage with it respectfully. They had some great pushback ofc. But what struck me was the language around biological children. 😵💫😵💫😵💫 wtaf www.heritage.org/family/reviv...

You know this is my third or fourth go around with this kind of technological innovation for consumers and citizens. And a lot of it is the same. Same pattern of exaggerated benefits, underestimated challenges. What’s new this time is the sector isn’t even pretending to care about the consumer.
So sad the Lions got rid of Leaf. Happy for him to have a good night even tho FTB. ☹️☹️☹️
When they get back in power, Democrats need to go all-in on higher education. We need a campaign of reinvestment in public universities across the country that makes the Morrill Land-Grant Act look like nothing by comparison *and* a GI Bill of Rights-style program of tuition grants.
Trump is banning students majoring in degrees that don’t make enough money from taking out college loans. Degrees for social work, art, religious studies, teaching aides, and music will be hit the hardest. trib.al/kQdKbY1

I was just reading about the bot wars in healthcare with patients using it to appeal insurance decisions and insurance companies using them to exploit loopholes to deny claims. It’s hell.
This is a good example. It assumes that the person can afford the price of whatever shop is available, for one thing. It also misunderstands that finding someone to work on your car is, for a lot of people, a social relation as much an economic one.
I think there's also a problem where Agentic AI is really good at a class of tasks only really rich people encounter frequently - annoying easy shit that you can have someone else quickly do for you if you're rich. "Call around and find me a tire shop that can change my tires today" is a "perfect"
