here's another throwback from 2016 a private poster commission inspired by Moby Dick honestly still really love this one, both the concept and execution i worked on pre-inked scratchboard for this one (so fully black) instead of the usual white claybord that i ink myself 30x40cm

I ended up experimenting a lot with this one, pouring layers of ink washes over the watercolor and building up with pastels. I'm trying to get a look that is soft and textured but still has clear strong details in places. I haven't gotten it down yet quite the way I want, but this is a step closer!

It's been ages since the last time I did something in traditional techniques (I don't lie if I say that maybe since before I moved to Galicia, so it's been +3 years now) and you have no idea how much I've enjoyed this piece. Size A4, pen and brushpen.

This was the illustration that caught the eye of the Catwoman editor and led me to create a large collection of covers for the character during my first year at @dc.com It's been a while since I last drew her, and I confess, I miss her! (I did scratch that itch with her Absolute Edition, though!)
