This can happen with the ambient AI medical scribes as well. A friend of mine told me about how the AI-generated summary tended to emphasize the patient-level attributions (e.g., referring to a stomach ache or localized pain), rather than the diagnosis (appendicitis).

The ACM Digital Library, where a LOT of computing-related research is published (I'd say at least 75% of my own publications), is now not only providing (without consent of the authors and without opt-in by readers) AI-generated summaries of papers, but they appear as the *default* over abstracts.

"Across all 6,510 evaluations, ChatGPT never once mentioned that an article had been retracted, corrected, or had any ethical issues. It did not seem to connect the retraction notice, often present in the article’s title or on the publisher’s page, with the content it was asked to assess."

Once I saw a paper on condom use among bear-bear* couples that was indexed under the Animal Studies heading in PSYCinfo. Always test your filters, #MedLibs friends *It was for a review on a gender & sexuality topic, so yeah. That kind of bear.
