Another Twitter escapee. @thestackscat most places. You don't get to take your trauma out on other people.

I'm going to teach my Black Feminist (Insurgent) Politics course this fall online for the public. There will be tuition costs on a sliding scale. We will work on core concepts, writing, and reading. Stay tuned as I plan the course and release more info.

Bluesky oldheads will remember that brief period of time when the conservative trolls tried to storm the place and were flummoxed by the idea they would have to organically grow an audience and that someone who didn't want to talk to them could nuke every interaction they ever had from orbit

can’t believe our current all-ages literacy crisis is making me a little nostalgic for the pretentious “we publish experimental poetry chapbooks and have strong opinions on Melville and the 1800s fur trade” Literature Boys of my college years in the late 2000s/early 2010s.

The trope of workforce readiness is taking over universities in a million ways, but the trope is much more useful as a disciplinary tactic of staff, faculty and students than it is for actual workplace readiness.

I keep thinking about the public pools during desegregation ex Isabel Wilkerson brought up in Caste. Rather than have integrated public pools, communities closed them after fed govt intervention req desegregation. Rather than benefit from a shared public good white supremacy says fuck everyone.

The medical guidance on dealing with Covid has never changed for immunocompromised or high-risk people. It has always been to wear a mask in crowded and indoor spaces. People will literally yell at kids with cancer and the rest of polite society goes “oh well, personal responsibility…”

People are complaining that for two hours in the early morning on one single day, the Exploratorium in San Francisco will require respirator masks. Never mind that this allows disabled and immune compromised kids to safely share in something they’re otherwise excluded from. Fuck them kids.

My point is, as we have been saying it is going to take white people, WM in particular, to fix this. Stop looking to us. These are your kids. They are growing in your houses.

It’s important to understand “age verification” and “kick the kids off social media” laws as a gift to Big Tech. These policies allow surveillance capitalism to chug along full steam ahead and let Silicon Valley giants off the hook. Instead of regulating their biz model, we just put up age gates

damage to my community that they WILLINGLY facilitated by helping the orange demon & republicans gain power…TWICE. Stop telling us it’s about class when the folks always taking the most heat are BLACK. IDGAF about PAC money until it’s rolled back everywhere because we can’t keep being outspent.

And other places. This regime has been targeting millions of people for death across Africa + Asia. It's 100% fair to point out how quiet the left has been about prior genocides outside of Gaza AND ALSO how certain folks refuse to take accountability for voting decisions that have launched new ones.

Just wondering, where all the “say it’s a genocide” folks have been when it comes to Sudan and Myanmar?
