"I am thrilled to announce that I have accepted a return offer to stay on as Head Coach of US Men's National Team through 2030. The last few years interning at US Soccer have been an incredible learning experience, and I can't wait to continue that. I'd like to thank JT Batson and Scott Goodwin..."

look, i think being pragmatic in high-stress situations and avoiding panic buys is a good thing. i think waiting to find the right guy is a good thing. but you can't keep waiting around forever. if you've yet to find a player that works in 5 consecutive summer windows, that signals an issue...

ICYMI: I did a little MLSNP digging and come up with a few prospects the Tacoma Defiance/Sounders could consider this transfer window. I know, I know. The fans want a big name singing. Still have to keep the rest of the pipeline in mind though!

These aren’t the headlining moves we all want Sounders to make, but here are three MLS Next Pro targets who would bolster first-team’s depth. 📊: @catabush.com 🎨: @likkitp.ynyaproductions.com www.sounderatheart.com/2026/07/mls-...

This is one of the more insane passing breakdowns I’ve ever seen. Seattle had 65% possession but 30% field tilt. That means they were almost completely unable to move the ball from their own half to the attacking 3rd. This isn’t “horseshoe of death”. It’s a ball progression catastrophe.

One thing that Miami does really well is using escalating contracts to get >3 DP-caliber players on the field at the same time. The sounders did this with Ferreira and Morris. But I think they forgot the second part, which is that you need to remain active in turning over your squad…

i am struggling to pinpoint an exact set of pitfalls in this roster construction. on paper one of the better/more efficient rosters in the league. i think maybe: a) more active solutions for injuries (buy people down - Morris?, loans) b) u22s c) too much "hope he stays healthy" roster building
