#Birds #MallardMonday A Mallard duckling pic from late June. I liked the little one's attitude, spunky... to match the hairdo😉.

An older, slightly fuzzy duckling, stands in green water facing right, into the sunlight. The bill is grey, the light brown head has a dark brown crest strip, there is a faint eyeline, the breast feathers are an off white, the body is rust brown flecked with black & lighter brown.

A recently fledged Northern Mockingbird is standing on a branch facing right in an excited begging stance, with tail raised straight up in the air, and beak wide open, showing the bright yellow-orange insides of the mouth. The baby bird is gray to brown, with two white wing bars on the wings which are not fully grown, and has a white underside with some pale brown-gray spots. Indistinct green leaves are in the upper background, with a brown out of focus area below that.

A Male Reed Warbler on a thin plant stalk. The bird is left of centre of the shot perched near the top of tall, dried out plant stalk that is bent over at a 45 degree angle with the weight of the bird. It is turned slightly to look right so that its front, belly and right side can be seen.
Another plant stalk is vertical beside the bird.
The background is an out focus blue sky with two thin, vertical tree branches sparsely covered in green leaves.

A European Robin perched on a thin Sycamore branch. The bird is right of frame, the underside of its tail and body are fully visible, as is its chest. Its head is turned to the left so that the left side of its head can be seen.
