Today I saw a bumper sticker on a truck: “I’m voting for the felon.” Yeah, you’re really owning the libs, man. You’re assisting the rapist. Dining with the cannibal. Taking a hot lead enema for the team.

The Troll DOJ firmly believes in jury nullification. It has nullified all the jury verdicts against the January 6 insurrectionists. I wonder how those jury members feel now. Probably scared, but oh well, I guess that’s just the price of national suicide.

Lawrence O'Donnel thinks Senators Cornyn and Tillis were threatened with senate "shunning", where after they retire they will not be able to speak with their Republican colleagues and unable to seek favors like jobs for their family members or take on lucrative lobbying roles.

Talarico’s argument is simple: Stop treating marijuana like a crime. Legalize it. Regulate it. Tax it. Stop wasting police resources on low-level marijuana offenses. Clear the records of people whose lives have been derailed by nonviolent marijuana convictions.

Hope he’s not looking, cute as a rat. He held unfurled his Freeman. Can’t see now. Remember write Greek ees. Bloom dipped, Bloo mur: dear sir. Dear Henry wrote: dear Mady. Got your lett and flow. Hell did I put? Some pock or oth. It is utterl imposs. Underline imposs. To write today.

Amendment 1 would have let the GOP replace the system of a nominating commission, gubernatorial appointment, and retention elections with direct partisan elections

I agree that they’ve “botched” this war. But was it desirable that this war should be waged or that it should succeed in the first place? I say no, but I fear that the default position in American politics is that when the U.S. chooses war, it should “win.”

Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth have completely botched this war. Yesterday, Trump said that Phase 1 is to open the Strait of Hormuz. His goal is now to fix the thing he broke. And the only thing the American people have to show for it is higher prices.

“So-and-so Republicans in Congress are retiring/lost the primary, so now there’s no reason for them not to resist/rein in Trump” is a thing I’ve heard many times that has never been true. This compulsion to look for hope from Republicans is a habit that must be kicked.

then by Lusignan, by Sansay, by Celles, by Coolonges, by Fontenay-le-Comte, saluting the learned Tiraqueau, and from thence arrived at Maillezais, where he went to see the sepulchre of the said Geoffrey with the great tooth;

A “generation” is not a valid scientific category. Some people came up with it as a way to categorize you by the time period of your birth. It’s astrology for dabblers in social studies.

Down the edge of his Freeman baton ranged Bloom’s, your other eye, scanning for where did I see that. Callan, Coleman, Dignam Patrick. Heigho! Heigho! Fawcett. Aha! Just I was looking...

Have you read the sequel to The Odyssey? The epic poem by Nikos Kazantzakis took him 14 years to write. Published in 1938, it’s a magnificent work, which I read in the English translation by Kimon Friar.
