No free speech CDC researchers were instructed to remove references to or mentions of a list of forbidden terms: “Gender, transgender, pregnant person, pregnant people, LGBT, transsexual, non-binary, nonbinary, assigned male at birth, assigned female at birth, biologically male, biologically female”

Okay, here’s the deal: RIGHT NOW is the time for concrete, direct action. If you’re following me, it’s probably because you care about trans art and trans literature. The article below lays out my suggestions for dozens of concrete actions you can take to preemptively combat literary censorship.

you know, maybe watching all that Captain Planet as a 90s kid really did prepare me for how outrageously dumb real-world villains truly are.

for everyone else: buy trans literature & art NOW while you can. there’s a non-zero chance that queer and *especially* trans voices wind up being temporarily silenced at some point over these next 4 years. support trans people *now* while we can still ask for help & make incredible art in public.
