I find it fascinating the way we’re apparently all supposed to be kind or just stay silent when horrible, horrible people die. Some deaths are worth celebrating. If you don’t want people to cheer at your demise, don’t live your life in a way that makes your death a source of joy.

Sad to see people posting on social media negatively about Rod Liddle, who died yesterday. If I have disagreed with you very strongly in life - and you die - I hope I'll be either silent, or kind.

Abhorrent but unsurprising to see the ‘defend women and girls’ crowd eulogising a man who - in between proudly espousing his racism, ableism & myriad other bigotries in print - punched his pregnant girlfriend & wrote that he couldn’t be a teacher because he would try to have sex with the pupils

I will reiterate: Christians in the West evangelize in public for the same reason men catcall. Neither is trying to persuade you; both are reminding you that the public sphere belongs to them and you exist in it at their sufferance.

when I was on the dole in the JSA, pre-UC days, they sent me on a mandatory work placement in Matalan unpacking totes and hanging clothes on rails, which is the exact same job I used to do in TK Maxx except I didn't get paid for it and Matalan got free labour from the state

My short experience of unemployment benefit many years ago was them doing nothing to help me find a job and offering to send me on a basic IT skills course when I had a 1st in software engineering.

Was too slow to take a photo of it going past on the bus but some very, very peculiar pro-Starmer graffiti has appeared in Kentish Town. My neighbourhood is letting me down tbh

I’m increasingly convinced that the motivation behind the transphobes is that they hate women who have exercised their right to change our bodies and/our our identity however they choose. It’s why they also hate women who dress in ways they don’t approve of, whether that’s ‘revealing’ clothing

So Andy Burnham's wife is getting endless nasty comments for having a body. I bet the "women's rights movement" that is heavily made up of trans-exclusive columnists who claim to be defending women are right on that. Yeah?

Julie Burchill saying that she can see "that woman's entire ovulation cycle in that frock" and, when corrected about her medical status says "if one wears such a tight dress, showing such detail, one cannot complain of attention and inspection."

Where I live it’s not rained for over three weeks - the ground is bone dry, grass mostly all dead etc etc. So why has my neighbour got a fire going on his back lawn
