Visited the new Chicago Brand Museum today. It's fascinating. (It's not a museum of just Chicago brands; it's a museum of lots of brand, which happens to be located in Chicago.) Fans of typography, graphic design, package design, and more will love it.

Given that 50k might address the very foundation of Maslow’s hierarchy, people will (should? ought to?) take the 50k and eschew the even-odds chance for a million, which is more than they can basically even grok what to do with. The 50k is a practical, manageable, understandable amount, thus…

And so anyway, the rational empiricist would say of course you take the coin flip because a million is a lot more than 50k, but we do not live in a world fueled by rational empiricists. A known, certain, 50k is something people can work with. Nothing does no good, but 50k does a known amount.

The “Get 50k for sure or flip a coin for a million” thing is an interesting quandary, but I am reminded of the time I dragged my partner down to a hockey game and during the intermission they did a game and I was like “You always take the swap!” And he was like “are you game theory-ing this?”

If Andy Beshear does not push this to a conclusion that either has him appointing McConnell's replacement, or McConnell reappearing, Beshear will be out of Democratic politics. We need rabble-rousers, not the same quiet, proper Dems who keep losing.
