Bill Shea@billshea19.bsky.social · 56m agoTommy T is legitimately perhaps the dumbest man to ever serve in the U.S. Senate, and while he may have gross fantasies about seceding into a New Confederacy, almost 30% of Alabama residents are non-white. Doubt that they want to be walled into a paranoid white nationalist garrison state.
My theory is Mike Rogers will have $300+ million: $80 million AIPAC and adjacent $100 million crypto and big tech $40 million Elon Musk $80 million pharma/health insurance industry Defense contractors might throw in $20 million to keep the wheels greased. And he'll lose by 7.

In any disagreement between the party establishment and the party base, whether it be over policy or priorities, in the long run the base always wins.

Centrists who pretend to be gobsmacked that someone criticizing Israel's genocide in Gaza might do well in a Democratic primary are announcing that they don't know anything about the current state of politics.
Whenever one of these freaks goes off on a tangent about their trans conspiracy of the day, the proper response -- from an interviewer or anyone else -- is "well, it seems like you're having some sort of mental breakdown here, so we'll wrap it up"

The decisive failure of GOP referenda in Kansas Amendment 1 and Missouri Amendment 4 yesterday is yet another reminder of something I've been saying for a while: Voters, even Republican voters, now regularly despise and repudiate GOP attempts to use them to destroy democracy.

If El-Sayed wins the general I don't think we'll hear 'I have a theory that what works in the Midwest will work on the coasts but not the reverse' ever again. Draw strength from this. Let it motivate you.

We have proven with AI, completely by accident, what knowledgeable people have been saying for decades: the environment that rich people live in gives them a very specific personality disorder.

I'm Gen Jones, which means I was a child / tween in the late 60s / early 70s, and anyone listening to AM radio during that era (say while riding in the back of mom or dad's car) will attest that there was an awful lot of glop still around. We've just purged it form our collective memories.
