Conservatives scaremonger to their base about the sexual threat posed by outsiders (migrants, liberals, queer folk) solely because the hypothetical victims here "belong to" conservative men. But they reserve the right for those same men to treat their own property however they wish.

Maybe because some of us care about other people, which is pretty inconceivable to a lot of empathy-free right-wingers? Though a lot of us aren't exactly mad; we're resolute in our commitment because it's not just one white woman being murdered; it's millions of BIPOC people being terrorized.

I share this because protests, demonstrations, and activism are often messy and unsuccessful. Many may not end how people intend, especially depending on whom they're up against and the resources they have. But there's much to learn, even from failure, and failure can inform and grow a movement. /12
