i still hate the doom "you control the buttons you press" tweet and that people repost it like it's real wisdom. fundamentally unserious approach to game design. that is actually very much what I buy a video game for. are the buttons fun to press. if there is bad button why did you put bad button
Watching mixing videos and remembering how BS it all is hahahaha. Every video even from seasoned pros is completely different advice. The only consistent advice for mixing really ive heard is to use your ears
The way people feel the need to moralize every aspect of a personal story / piece of art regardless of context is pretty scary and very anti-art. Esp when it is a niche smaller thing. Don't like that one bit.

fellow gamedevs: is it egotistical to cry when you see the finished ending to your game for the first time? :')
why are people emailing me asking for review copies, of a game that's $10 bucks, 8 months after release? stop that!
I feel like I need to have a giant banner that says "I think the Castlevania cartoon sucks and is the worst thing to happen to the series, and I'm not interested in Belmont's Curse at all", because I definitely get to hear about those things a lot 😅
which one are you using in a fight to the death
Some new peeks into MEATBALL the MITE's corpse adventure.. #gamedev #indiedev #animation #art #screenshotsaturday
i remember before i watched austin powers i was like "why does anyone like him he just seems like a misogynist" and after i watched austin powers i was like "i am so endeared with his strange humor and disarming sincerity and endless mojo and i get it now"

POTENTIAL MAN releases August 31st, 2026! This one’s got potential! Will you be playing?
This is 100% the option I prefer also, but it's only practical if aided by an algorithm, and it's getting to the point where even that isn't sufficient to keep wading through Steam releases from being exhausting and demoralizing to players.
But I'd prefer a third option which is people sludging through and trying to find the good shit again

Slightly spicy take: It makes me sad to even see this occasionally from fellow peers in industry, who also just assume by being in games/playing games is somehow a pass where ”you know game design”. Like it’s just something we all inherit by being in the games industry.
Game design and fiction writing are, for whatever reason, two jobs that most people think they could do instantly at a high standard, with zero experience or evidence. I don’t know if it was a smart idea to focus on both as a profession. Certainly an occasionally frustrating idea.
jigsaw: hello segway steve. you live your life always moving forward, never looking back. now we'll see how happy your wheels truly are. before you is a spike fall. will you accomplish the plunge and be branded "IMPOSSIBLE"? or will you join the ranks of justin bieber? live or die. make your choice.
komodo dragon this one was a joy to paint i had done many of these paintings in less than 3 hours. i gave myself 6 hours to do this one and figure out some new textures/techniques. #MarioPaint #snes #pixelart #pointillism #speedpaint #art #reptiles #lizard #wildlife
Sometimes still think about how Doom 2016 had doomguy destroy a thing that was trying to explain lore and story to him, rejecting the very idea of exposition and lore in a doom game and then the next 2 games just decided "you know what? this game needs more lore"
They made a did you know gaming episode about me but im so fucking mysterious that when they read out my facts they got so scared they ran out of the room
I intend to do a full writeup on this soon, but the nihilism that the new generation “simply doesn’t want video games” is totally off the mark. You’re just not following what they want to play.
All my hobbies are being destroyed by those that don’t care about anything.
a 30k funding goal on kickstarter is not even close to enough for what most games need. developers unfortunately have to keep placing their goals this low because gamers do not know what games actually cost.
game devs: what are the myths that a lot of players of games think are true about making games that are completely untrue? If you could snap your fingers and they suddenly all knew the truth about it what would it be?
imagine if they fired every band member every time an album came out
