"Ted Lasso" has definitely become the show that the people who always disliked "Ted Lasso" always thought that it was. Does that mean that it always WAS that show? Dunno — times change, shows change, culture changes — but as somebody who is prone to smugness, I live to see smugness rewarded.

Extremely good first season and then a complete misunderstanding of what made the show work (that the kindness is supposed to be underneath it all, not slathered like caulk into every gap)

It’s important to view this for what it actually is: a Linehan-style attempt to make a big stooshie and have the press report this as a ‘feud’ with a much bigger, much more successful artist.
