As an adult teacher I have been punched, kicked, spat at, hit by a chair, bitten by children between the ages of 5 and 12. Children. These are children. The government should not empower teachers, who have in loco parentis duties of care for these children, to use physical force at any point.

Abso-bloody-lutely. Growing up in London in the 80's & 90's for me was violent all round. I experienced & saw abuse regularly. If I had of been diagnosed then it would have put a target on my back. Of all the policies he could come up with... I thought he wanted a golden age!

The full comments are even worse. Dripping with holier than thou. And for the speaker to not push back on him says they're too scared to. Luxon speaking all the wanky business speak won't save him from losing his job. He has as much depth as a bowl of milk... at least the milk gives sustenance!

Great to see that National support 30 weeks Paid Parental Leave. Especially after they voted against the introduction of PPL. Blocked the extension to 26 weeks for several years. Canceled 33 pay equity claims. And just this year, cut Best Start payments for the majority of new parents.
