Some guy from Embra. No longer does a media thing for money. Proud Scottish Green and lefty Scotpol pipedog gang (sadly depleted) member.

Damaging new guidance from the EHRC will shut out Trans people from daily life simply for existing, and anyone who doesn't conform to narrow ideas of how people should look could face suspicion and confrontation. We are taking a stand against this attack on human rights.

So Luciana Berger was abused by a fascist who is now a Tory candidate despite his criminal conviction over it, but at the time she allowed everyone to think that the whole thing was about "the antisemitic Labour left"?

This is all horrific stuff, and I invite you to go back to 2018/19 and reread her columns, newspaper interviews and podcast appearances talking about it, and then decide who it sounds like it was, that had been doing all this.

The other day I was looking up that quote about "the government would love to do to you what they can to migrants" and found out it was actually Neal Ascherson not Tony Benn. Now there's a journalist we should miss when he's gone. Still working at 93. www.lrb.co.uk/the-paper/v4...

I inquired about the cat at Craigmillar Castle in Edinburgh and was told her name is Amber and it is her castle. She accepted four strokes and then had other business to attend to.

I don't know if we'll ever have a reckoning about how the newsprint/westminster bubble is absolutely packed with predators and abusers and everyone knows about it but it's deemed horribly rude to ever fucking draw attention to it

Content warning: comics nerdery. I loved Harvey's work. He gave a leg-up to Sacco, Haspiel, Woodring, Chet Brown, Bechdel and many more. He was a difficult, grumpy bastard and most of this is probably triplicate complaints about co-workers… but it's worth saving. www.kickstarter.com/projects/735...

His Name was Harvey Pekar

It’s pointless to argue with these journalists about covid and lockdowns etc. because they’re not doing any of it in good faith. They just like debating. Nobody normal and good likes debating.

I assume that subscribing to The National means that the money isn't ringfenced for that paper and just sloshes around with that for The Herald and Newsquest in general, right?

The (very nice) 69th issue of our newsletter is out now ft. 20th century superbeings, All the good men and the gods, Christopher Nolan: war accountant, dream calculations, longing with Sam Gellaitry, Stalker, Summer Fun and more!

The first sip, the first foretaste of a bitter cup

I faxed my answer to El Segundo. Jacob's Room/The Odyssey. The Pilman Radiant 6: Life. Planks Constant. Summer Fun: Chaos. This thing called love real hard for me. Best Spider-Man film.

Hello I have made this due to a mutual having issues with some folks on here forgetting this fact and shouting at him for it. Feel free to use it as a handy PSA x

A crappy photoshop paint image with a red star on blue, in comic sans is the message 'some people on the internet aren't American'

I see the induced traffic caused by yet reopening North Bridge is now a queue all the way back to South Bridge. Great work everyone.

Yes lockdown was really tough for kids. Lots of those kids are teenagers now so maybe as a thank you our establishments could stop deliberately making even more things worse for them due to a weird systemic hatred of our own youth

The past couple of days are a great lesson in why the Spectator Garden Party list is essential for muting at the very least.
