On the day my country implements a bathroom ban it means so much to be in a room full of awesome trans people, trans elders, and cool folks working on something amazing ❤️‍🩹✊ The fight goes on till we’re all free

Missing jigsaw piece: the (former) Nazi now runs a popular satirical website where Badenoch is treated as some sort of cross between Boudicca & Margaret Thatcher while Labour & even Reform are constantly mocked. So this whole sorry mess is just another symptom of her being terminally online.

Another glorious vindication of Kemi Badenoch’s impeccable political judgment. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

with apologies to the young man who left his extremely well-curated spotify account logged in on the hotel tv: if my daughter didn’t hear elmo’s alphabet rap we were all going to die

I am reiterating an offer that I made years ago: I am available as a resource to look into internet archive matters in a more deep research way or to answer questions for users who have complicated issues they require additional attention to unpack. My email is jscott@archive.org. Be specific.

The government’s transphobic statutory guidance is now in force, telling organisations that provide services they can no longer be trans inclusive. This will have a devastating impact on the everyday lives of trans people. So we’re backing a legal challenge against it: https://goodlaw.social/pmbo

THREAD 🧵🧵🧵🧵 Two of the main lies in the Cass Review used to justify the puberty-blocker ban; 1. The lie that puberty-blockers have a long-term negative effect on bone density. 2. The lie that puberty-blockers have a negative effect on cognitive ability. Both have been shown to be false; 1/4

I've told this story before and I suppose now it's time to do it again. When I was in 9th grade, my English teacher was the elderly sort of man who always wore a gray flannel suit and had a cigarette before class and a cigarette at the end of class every period.

It seems like assigned reading, especially summer reading, should include titles from different genres, with different tones, from different eras. (And as a former sulky Anne Rice-reading teen, I advocate for some over-the-top moodiness in the mix with realistic problem fiction and happier tales.)

How would I get by without AI? If I need a factually-dubious opinion expressed in a cliched manner with unearned confidence, I’ll just talk to a straight white cis man. I can get by on small-batch, locally-sourced, artisanal mansplaining, the way we always used to.

I listed a cargo bike for sale at the beginning of the summer, thinking the timing would be right for people interested in warm weather adventures. Crickets, then 8 inbounds the past 2 weeks. Turns out everyone is shopping for new school commutes. Bikes are infrastructure.
