Funny thing about me is that I consider myself extremely rules bound UNLESS I don't think a rule makes sense in which case I simply do not believe that it applies to me

This is, for the record, something that I think is *bad*. A decade ago when Nazi imagery and symbolism started returning to the US I wanted to pitch an essay about how the constant use of Nazis as villains in video games etc had turned them into a cartoon evil utterly detached from real history.

Actually here’s another thing that’s hard for a lot of people and especially Jews to comprehend: in America, a lot of people understand the Nazis — the bad guys America defeated who are in video games — in a way that is completely divorced from Jews, esp since many of them *do not know Jews at all*

*Well, it's 107 degrees F out here, but at least I didn't go on vacation in Crimea... Oh wait, are those spy-drones overhead? Those trucks by that green water, are they full of armed troops? Oh jeez, they are"

Whether it's the enduring spirituality, the high-flying musicianship, or its insight into the eternal questions of human existence, all Gen Xers agree that the Dead Milkmen's "Punk Rock Girl" is the finest of all possible songs.

I am not a person who is terribly familiar with the works of Kurosawa but there were several points where the movie seemed to be making pointed references to something I was not familiar with and I just assume all those things were Kurosawa references.

Five contributions to a project: money, effort, attention, memory & wisdom. We need them all, but tend to focus too much on the money. Read it on Improve Something Today. I’m celebrating 10 years of the site with 10 days of blogging. Here’s day 5: improvesomething.today/five-contrib...

Following on Jerry Weinberg’s point that ‘the money is usually the smallest part of the price,’ what other prices are to be paid, and how should a consultant approach these contributions?
